Sadly only 5 headliners next year.

Possibly, which would be a typical Sziget headline combo. Although would love Raye over Florence.

Gorillaz

21P

Tyler

Florence

Calvin

Leaks said it's Gorillaz or 21P.

("Are you sure about both?" or something like that)

Rockstadt Extreme Fest from Romania announced Marilyn Manson today.

He is the type of act older Szitizens enjoy, a public that Gerendai would like to bring back.

edit: damn, just saw he's gonna play in Budapest separately

Evanescence announced tour yesterday and could be free in europe in august, I know they are very unlikely but just saying

They also announced EU/UK shows in September so they won’t play festivals in August.

Exactly they will have their own concerts in september but they are free in august, they could arrive to europe a little sooner for festivals in august

No, they won't because they need to sell tickets for their own shows. People won't buy them if they can see them at a festival a month earlier...

Moby’s just been announced to Budapest Park, so we can remove him from the basket.

I'm quite pleased by that. I saw him years ago and he was amazing but yesterday I checked out a vid on YouTube of a gig he did in France last year and it was pretty lacklustre. A bit cabaret if I'm honest, just no ooomph!

Fontaines D.C. and Zara Larsson got announced for Fm4frequency festival in Austria which is a week after Sziget. I can see them coming to Sziget (Twenty One Pilots and Lorde probably too)

Quick look and it seems Sziget shared 9 acts with FM4Frequency this yea, including three headliners (Post, Shawn and Chappell) so definitely looks possible.

considering the pool/proximity (with a bit of wishful thinking), first announcement could look like:

Twenty One Pilots - Florence + The Machine - Lorde/Sombr

Fontaines D.C. - Zara Larsson - Tash Sultana - Clipse

Oklou - Raven Lenae - Geese - PinkPantheress - Kettama

and some others sprinkled in

Im just hoping they had enough time to organise and money for this.

    • An interesting thing this. Having seem them several times (some of their gigs veer into back catalogue niche territoty), I partly agree they arent Pyramid material (theough modern defeinition of 'bangers' although I could see them headlinging the Other stage) I can't think of another festival in the world that they couldn't headline - Reading, IoW, BST, Rock Wercheter, Roskilde, etc etc.
    • Ohhh it’s very, very good.
    • I'm sure you like silly music too but is it because it's not a Download traditional type act it gets looked down on? Rock am Ring booked them, and they sell every year so don't actually need to   Andy going and being replaced is the best thing that could have happened to Download, someone fresh to mix it up a bit rather than just a complete rotation. The only reason Andy booked ST in ti headline too was because he loves them and he was going on to manage them. Nah, Andy booked FOB in a year where over 20 acts were asked, I'll guarantee if they get Blink and having had Green Day they did not need 20 bands to come to those. FOB are also not one that have been booked in Europe to headline by anyone other than Reading as co-headliner as far as I can see. They weren't a ooh god yes they've booked FOB.
    • Would love to see them headline as well, but agree with Mr Bailey ☹️
    • I think it's just a slight shift in target audience of the festival, Andy also booked FOB    A lot of young people (me included) are nostalgic for the 2000's pop punk and nu metal rather than the 80's legacy bands    It's just the festival moving with the times I think Andy would of done the same    Although they are still booking some legacy acts like GNR but that doesn't seem to have gone well ticket sales wise
