Sziget 2026

I still think sziget should/will bring at least one more big “surprise” headliner above what we are already know/presume. Without it the complete lineup is too predictible and similar to other festivals happening around. Roughly half of sziget visitors are foreigners, they have to offer something more for them to buy a plane a ticket rather than watch a similar fest locally/closer. 21p/fatm/sombr/calvin harris/lorde is cool, but it doesnt seem a strong set of headliners for me.

my other observation: if sziget cant book a strong high-demand headliner, they really want, they usually bring the following year. That happened many times in the past. When they start the wishmachine they are likely already in the booking process, so wishmachine voting is rather for the following year. Thus olivia rodrigo may come in 2027, it would really make sense.

"Did you notice the emoji combo on our Insta Broadcast channel that hints one of our artists? Can you guess who it might be?👀" - this was sent in email yesterday.

In the Insta Broadcast chat, the hint was a plane and a pilot emoji, so yes, one of the headliners are Twenty One Pilots.

I thought the emoji combo was this message which is likely a Tomora reference. The plane message only has one emoji, which might as well be a twenty one pilots hint though, who are really likely to be at sziget too.

Nobody has mentioned Raye, I know she played in 2024 but could now come back as a headliner. She's headlining Reading and Leeds next year…

It feels like Lorde and Florence are more likely as they both have many other European festivals announced, whereas Raye only has R&L.

Not saying there's a limit on female headliners we can have, but if we are getting sombr and 21P and a DJ, I can't see Raye taking one of the remaining couple of slots.

Things might become a lot clearer with Pukkelpop's announcement tomorrow.

Would prefer Raye over Florence, although the festival will probably need Florence from a selling ticket point of view.

Is everyone thinking

Lorde

Florence

21p

Dj (calvin)

+1

Hopefully the +1 is either XX, The Cure or Nick Cave.

I feel like it is still a bit weak, in previous editions 21p was just a sub (before Foo’s, Lorde was a co headliner, xx a strong undercart, and calvin a regular and trivial edm headliner. Missing the real wow factor.  Sombre was a great booking though, but honestly i can only see him as a co headliner.

I feel like they may not go the direction of "5 days = 5 headliners" and come out with a pool like previous years (the below isn't my absolute ideal but i think it's a semblance of what we may get)

It looks quite good at first, even when we compare to other festivals, but peggy gou/jade/fontains dc/zara larsson normally shouldnt be amoung the main or co-headliners.

I think Fontaines have earned that headliner slot. They've certainly crept up the bills in the UK, to the point of them being discussed at Glastonbury headliners in 2027. However, Jade certainly isn't at that level, and personally I wouldn't put Zara (much as I love her) and Peggy Gou at that level yet either.

To be fair that was 7 years ago in 2019. 21p stock has gone up significantly and are bonafide headliners.

Same with Lorde and XX.

I dont think there is any wow headliner on the scene next summer. Its all quite samey with The Cure, XX, Nick Cave at a fair few fests. With a few more headliners around the scene.

Does sziget have the pull or cash to bring in a wow headliner, thats not anywhere else?

Although I agree its a tad weak, but perhaps solid in the circumstances of the last few months.

Are Fontaines big in Europe? No idea where they played on lineups in Europe this year.

Although they would be a big pull at Sziget, with the big Irish following at the festival. Kingfishr this year was rammed full of Irish.

They played in a 3500 capacity venue in Budapest this summer.
