Usually camp on music days, this year we are doing a hotel for 10 days. Great location for city touring, right by the Opera house.

Any way how easy is it to get out of the site? Busier from 11pm - 2am I presume after the headliners? Long queue for the taxis?

HÈV + Tram 6 runs all night. Taxi queues are usually really long, never tried to get one. On the other hand public transport might be a bit busy.

I stayed in a hotel in town. Therefore went to the festival and back every day by train. There are a lot of people going back at the same time, but it's ok. You queue a little bit, but easy. Taxis and Budapest... Be careful what you pay! With Forint you can get robbed...

We used taxis in 2024 as we had, stupidly, located ourselves down near the Great Market.

I'd say the longest we queued was probably a good hour (on the Saturday night), with the usual being between 20 and 30 mins.

Quick tip to abide by, because we didn't one night, is to ensure the meter is always switched on.

We were paying about £17 each night and on 'no meter' day the driver asked for £35. After some heated discussions he accepted £20 (which is what he would've got, with a tip, if the meter was on!)

i used to sleep on the castel side next to H6 station so it was easy getting back at night to the hotel, and easy to visit the city by day.

btw the sziget city pass is wayyy higher then the regular public transport budapest card so dont buy the festival one.

No. Please. Don't even go there.

Good God, haven't we suffered enough already?

That would be 5 times in 12 years, 2 of them missed ones were covid. 😃

I actually don't mind him, but would be such a wasted slot.

Saw him in 2019 and 2024 as the kids like Another Love but (sounding all of my 50+ years) all his other songs blended into one bland tune. On each occasion.

Looking forward to the announcement this week, so far, no stand out acts for me (don't come at me!). Coming from the UK for my first Sziget on my own,  just here for experience, not camping. Staying Buda side, any tips gratefully received

Highly recommend you have a listen to what’s already announced,  some great stuff. If you ignore calpaldi which a lot of people will.

what type of music are you waiting for.  I would expect a lot more electronic and world music in the next lineup

How strong is the electronic part of lineup so far?

I'm not so much into it, i knew quite a few names on the last year lineup, barely anything on the lineup now.

I suspect we will get quite a few EDM names on Tuesday as there were very few in the first announcement.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Tuesday's announcement contains a similar number of acts as the first one - mid thirties.

So far we've got Dom Dolla who's one of the major players in the dance music scene (I recommend getting started with Miracle Maker, San Frandisco, Rhyme Dust and girl$), some very interesting names in the techno/psy world with ANNA, BIIA, Indira Paganotto and Pan-Pot (check out their DJ sets), melodic techno legend Joris Voorn, dance music hitmaker Jazzy, and oskar med k who went viral with his emotional track 'Make Me Feel' track (one of my favourites names on the line-up; also check out Spellbound & i think i'm addicted).

Not too much but definitely quality selections. I have a feeling that ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U will be thrown in the mix on Tuesday in addition to the DJ headliner and some names like BUNT. on the electronic side.

Don't forget Tomora. Very interesting new project of Aurora and Tom from The Chemical Brothers

At the moment they have barely announced the EDM stuff.  Sziget has approx 1000 acts across the week( possibly a few less with the drop to 5 days, let’s say 750) and so far we have 38.  A lot more to come yet.

they may announce new stages this year or get rid of some.  Who knows.  There is talk of the world music coming back,  the Hungarian stage making a comeback and the retro stage also returning.    I think they could easily remove the new for last year club stage (it was soulless imho) but who knows.

so far the music mix has been more like it used to be a few years ago.  I would expect them to go all out with as many musical styles as they can find including world, jazz, pop, rap, old skook, edm, metal, emo, singer songwriter, indie, rock even classical.

Pukkelpop, Way Out West, Lowlands AND Sziget due to announce this coming week, wonder whether someone was on hold.

Maybe someone after last night's Grammy's? Can't think who though.

Pukkelpop reveal this morning, that might give us something of an idea before the Sziget video is leaked this evening......🤣

Who's is everyone hoping for tomorrow? I'm ever the eternal optimist for Wet Leg, would be overjoyed for Turnstile and would love someone a little leftfield like Geese, Lily Allen or Parcels.

Could we be getting Tyler?!?!?!

Yes, if they did not try to re-book Asap Rocky after his cancelled show, then sure. He will be the rap headliner.

He is huge, but i am not really into his kind of music. That is my opinion.
