In my opinion the ticket sales rather reflected on the economical situation in hungary, the hyperinflation and higher international travel costs

It's still very cheap to travel to Hungary. There are so many flights to/from Budapest which are not even €50...

I welcome the hypothesis, but Sziget in the last few years have catered majorly to foreigner audience and to travel to Hungary is cheaper then ever... Budapest on its own is not as cheap as it used to be, by western Europe standards, but it's still not prohibitive by all means.

The inflation perspective for sure is an interesting aspect, though for other reasons: with the hungarian florin losing purchasing power and the inflation growing within the country, Sziget's organization probably had to face two different threats:

- Internally, it becomes more complicated to attract investments, as inflation dis-incentivize them (and thats macroeconomics 101)

- Externally, you have less purchasing power to be able to compete with the other festivals bid when it comes to booking artists. Moreover, it's not like Hungary has ever been the center of the world for what concerns european tours, so it's not really a pity for an agent to skip Budapest.

Generally speaking, this alone would justify the impoverment that the festival has suffered lately, which has been very well hidden by the organization that remains top notch, but in the long run wouldn't let me very confused it it boiled down to the festival shutting down.

Pretty sure this is a hint for one of the next years headliners. And since Olivia Rodrigo headlined Glastonbury this year, I think we will be seeing her on the island next year.

This can mean a lot of things. Firstly, someone’s passion is graphic design.

With Cure being announced to Rock en Seine, it could mean them as well.

Plot twist: It's The 1975.

I’ll be honest, that went through my mind, but I was afraid to jinx it and make it happen.

For all we know it might just be the equivalent of the will smith meme to let people know which festival to pick in the fallow years.image.jpeg.1aea4c0f58def29ba7678fbc8b8cdeb4.jpeg

I think we need to remember, it is Sziget.

The marketing and socials are by far the worst off festivals. So I doubt,  they are suddenly going to be a genius in marketing the festival.

Im just waiting for the dates, to see if its 6 or 5.

or 12 or 13 😉

I'd be very happy if we did. As long as we don't get Bieber again!

I'd also like Moby but appreciate I might be in the minority on that one!

I never seem to know too many on the undercard of Coachella, but would happily take Lykke Li, Chloe Caillet, Sombr, David Byrne, Black Flag, Royksopp and............WET F**KING LEG!!

Moby was so good at his euro shows last year

Labrini girls would be a good Sziget band for the buzz.  Gonna recommend desperate journalist as well for the same stage.

wonder what their big changes will be for this years.  Loved the 2025 addition,  they need to attract more people to camp or come for the week over day tickets.  Gives a better ambience.   Build on the extra arts stuff,  it really is what makes Sziget cool.  They need one proper rock headliner.  Maybe foos,  queens of the stone age etc.

diversify the late night offerings.  Dance is covered,  now let’s have more late bands/ indie djs/ rock djs/pop djs/ r and b DJs.    Karyoke late night is needed as well.

    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
