It's probably been on the pod at some point, but I think Trees exclusivity clauses are most relevant for Bristol, Cardiff and that sorta "South West" area. Headliners play London shows alongside Trees all the time, like Alexisonfire this year, so think its less of an issue.

Maybe but if they are struggling for headliners they might have to break that rule

I don't know if they are struggling for headliners are they?

 

James has been pretty positive on the pod from my listening and the comments about having only one repeat headliner across ATG + Trees sorted suggested he was happy with how things are going.

 

It's one thing having a band booked, another having them announced. Trees can be a bit slow drip feeding acts sometimes but that's fairly usual for them. I don't think we're in the "in case of emergency, break glass and book Twin Atlantic again" territory just yet.

I'm not saying Skindred are impossible, just that from the info we have to go on right now there is a probable reason to rule them out. I imagine you're probably asking all of this as a fan, and so I hope they do book them for you if they can!

The headliners are booked, they're just spreading them out over announcements to keep little bursts of ticket sales going in Jan & Feb and by then they'll be pretty close to sold out

They just hadn't agreed before the announcement. They've not been dropped entirely.

James does have previous for stuff like this, like when first denying letlive last year.

 

I love the podcast, and the honesty and level of insight is miles more than any other festival, but I think James will still say whatever he has to on the pod that is in Trees' (or ATG's) best interest.

Breaking Benjamin are in the country on an UK/EU tour, but probably too busy to do Trees as well. Amsterdam on the 8th, Birmingham on the 10th, Glasgow on the 11th - so they'd only theoretically fit on the Thursday and there doesn't seem to be a slot for them.

Biffy have been announced for Kendall Calling, I know it's quite a bit bigger than Trees but simultaneously feels like both a kick in teeth and a glimmer of hope
