Pedestrian Gate D

Don't do what I did in 22 - got pointed up the hill where everyone was queuing by the stewards, so dragged my heavily laden barrow all the way to the top and then realised the snake went all the way along the top of the field, and then having traversed the top of the field saw that it went all the way back down the hill again. I was so annoyed I sacked it off and went and joined the Gate A queue which was about 50m from where my car was parked

Yeah that’s painful.

were arriving to bronze early hours so going to chance gate D as should be there before the queue gets shut off. what's the best walking round to join D queue? looking at the map looks like you can snake through bronze / orange parking - is that doable? or is there a set route you could be sent to?

4 of us leaving Frome at 7am tomorrow. Aiming to camp park home ground/oxylers/paines area. Pretty flexible. Looking at PGD but looks like we should aim for PGA if D is gna be closed? Will there be space in these campsites at that time?

My coach is arriving at 6am, my mates are gonna be at Gate D from 3am onwards.

How easy is it gonna be for me to walk around there and join them in the que?

Thank you pls

I’d go in gate A as you’ll be prioritised on a bus and walk across onsite you’ll likely be in a fair few hours in front . People might not like you walking past them in the queue

Okay - my times were a little bit off, but not by much.

But I'll reconstruct the timeline according to my WhatsApp history

10:13: "Parked in pink. Traffic wasn't terrible"

10:59: "We're nearly at the front!"

11:13: "And we're in!"

12:01: I sent a photo from my tent with a (slightly warm) cider in my hand

Tbf, that was the quickest I've ever moved through a queue. It might have been a fluke, but I hope to reproduce it this year.

None of our group has trolleys, and we're fast walkers, so there was no faffing around once we'd arrived.

Last year I parked up in Orange at 07:31, queue at 07:53, in at 09:40, setup by ~10:00 for another point of reference!

2023 was way worse as the gate D queue ended up having a bunch of different splits, so some people who arrived hours later were actually ahead of us in the queue which was frustrating.

You can walk from bronze into orange - there's a narrow bridge to go over which is a pinch point if there's vehicles going over it but you should be ok. I did just that 2023

Is bronze not hospitality parking?

Seems like it was a 2/2:30 close this year, wild. We were diverted to A at around 03:00

PGA far busier than last year too. We’re around the same position in the queue as our 4:30/5:00 arrival last year

Lol - we've only just been told peeps are being redirected to A now.

Tis what it is. Also hearing people are being told to wait in Pink Car Park for the time being.

And that gates aren’t opening until 9am but I don’t believe that 😂

    • Wednesday is a nice addition imo
    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
