Primavera Sound 2026

If Radiohead does play Primavera 2026, I hope we get an early standalone announcement prior to the lineup dropping, just like what happened with Depeche Mode's announcement in 2022.

This would be great, but I could see it after the tour dates are announced, if the first dates start in early November, Primavera could get their line up out again by end of October and be one of the first announcements for Radiohead next year. Which might boost their sales if inevitably all the November dates are sold out.

maybe she was negotiating her return for next year…

She's too big for primavera as one of her first Barcelona shows back no? I know she did 2023 but that was after she had already played big gigs in Barcelona in 2022. I think if she would return it'd be like 2027?

apparently her new album isn’t done yet - so I could see her doing a Charli and playing Prima before she releases her new album, or maybe she could do a Dua Lipa - where she played Barcelona a couple of weeks before at the arena and then did Prima.

either way she is a huge name in Barcelona and Spain, I think she'll be playing bigger places than Primavera

Her new album is out in November leaked by Elle Spain (now they are correcting the article omitting that info, though)

Nick Cave confirmed the Bad Seeds are doing a date in Brighton next year - maybe an outdoor tour is coming…

Someone already covered this a few pages back

Sorry to bring this up again, but people are openly discussing the possibility of Nick Cave and Radiohead being booked for this edition. I am finding it very hard to envisage either of these bookings. Cave’s stance on Israel/Palestine and Radiohead’s (at best) lack of a stance are the complete opposite of where Primavera seems to be positioning itself, (see Kneecap, Fontaines, Ethel Cain and many others). I know that as an individual you could simply choose not to see artists that you disagree with, but that gets a bit muddied in a festival environment and especially with a festival that likes to give the impression of making a statement. I hope this post does not cause polarised grandstanding, even mentioning a music festival in the same breath as what is happening in Gaza feels totally wrong, but I can’t help thinking that Primavera organisers would also want to avoid adding names to the line up that would make these arguments flare up.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
