Close to everything - where do most people head for first as soon as they get through the gate when it opens?

All over the place probably depending on which entrance they come in.

You can not tlbe Close to everything has the site is huge so might be better narrowing down the areas or stages you woukd prefer to be near to before asking that question

There is no single answer to this question

A lot of people do bolt for Pennard Hill but that is definitely not the best campsite -

My sons have been going since their 20s. I sent them to Oxlyers and they were bowled over at being able to see a band on the Other stage from their tents! Blew them away. Also good enough for SE corner and very handy for silver hayes and Arcadia . They didn't go anywhere different the next years. It's a tight fit though and harder this year as camping in that area has been reduced. Think they may be heading somewhere new this time though as some are arriving Thursday and oxylers will be full by Wednesday

K how about a mix of quiet(ish) and reasonable close to the main stages?

There is no best campsite. No matter where you camp it’s always far from something because the site is huge.

Most of the campsites that are close to the main stages fill up quickly and are usually not that quiet but that can vary depending on who your neighbours are.

You’re arriving pretty early and only need a small space so you should be able to fit in anywhere really. Look at the lineup, figure out which stages you will spend the most time at and then look at the map and pick a camp site that’s near those stages.
