There's more digging to be done on Fontaines, and if it is them I wouldn't rule out that info possibly coming my way, but it's too early yet.

What I currently know is that they're getting an obscene amount of money for R+L this year. It may be that they weren't planning to do anything this year til that came their way and turned their heads. They're playing a very small amount of summer dates around it (maybe 3 or 4?).

Given that they're recording now, the above probably made sense for the payday + play a new tune or two. Keep them match fit ahead of a winter arena tour, and summer '27.

I've been told about one summer '27 gig for them so far. The biggest they'll have done in this country, that's obviously gonna be accompanied by a number of others. Based on that, and their popularity rising even more since they were offered the Pyramid sub slot in 2025, it would make sense for 2027 to be the year they get their headline slot.

The spanner in the works is a) no lack of competition after a fallow year and b) Oasis.

When the Oasis 2027 announcement drops it'll be instantly evident if Glastonbury is a write off or the gap is there, waiting.

I don't see a reason why the festival wouldn't book both of them either, budget permitting. Those two alongside a stellar female headline act - that's formidable.

We shall see.

Fontaines, Oasis, Chappell/Sabrina

Ok then. This would be satisfactory. Most satisfactory.

GnR and Arctics? (although you could argue that last year had 2 bands headlining)

Yeah I thought that, though it's hard when you start trying to put them under a genre.

A mate suggested to me Oasis & Fontaines wouldn't work, due to them wanting genre variation. I'm not so sure, though. I think it would be more budget - if that part worked, I think they could both do it.

I see what you mean and agree Oasis and Fontaines are closer in genre than my example.

I think they would ideally avoid having both of them headline the same year as it limits how diverse the headliners can be. But they can always play the ‘Fontaines are another new Glastonbury headliner’ card if needed,

plus 2023 suggests that they are content to have more than one (guitar) band headlining if needed.

I still think Raye is quite likely.

Raye, Oasis (or Foos if Oasis isnt coming together), Harry Styles

I think Raye will be done touring after Reading. She's done a lot of touring and I was kinda surprised Reading was in. Wouldn't totally rule it out.

I will say if Download manage to get Foos over Glastonbury provided they actually go for them then fair play. They will sell a lot of tickets off of just getting Foos.

Raye has an album coming out in a month. She's not going to stop touring less than half a year after it's released.

Harry Styles, Chappell Roan, Radiohead

I don't think you could get a more perfect blend of artists both in terms of quality and satisfying different tastes/ages

Still on this

Based on what they did last summer I dunno what is bigger for them other than stadiums? They did Finsbury Park etc last year did they not? I suppose they could do bigger parks. Defo up in Scotland they could anyway, they only subbed trnsmt up here.

Stadiums.

Well, I categorically know of one, but there's no way it'll be an isolated gig.

Finsbury comfortably sold out. The cap was 45k (I think, from memory. Can probably dig out the exact figure).

If you hear of anything in scotland plz let me know.

Always the fear that a band does a trnsmt headline instead of their own show and I really would not want to go to trsnmt ever again

Is that stadium Anfield by any chance?

I'm going with Olivia Dean / Harry Styles / Oasis for now, but could defo see Fontaines D.C. or RAYE getting the call. Saw RAYE's tour the other night and it was good tbf, and the new songs from the upcoming album sounded great live; not sure if I'd personally see her or not, but think it'd probably go down fairly well.

If its stadiums, I don't think their team will let them do Glastonbury headline and stadiums gor their fiest go at it.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
