I mean...it can be read that way, I'm sure some will...but Labour will just see this as a big blow to Sunak just before the locals so who gives a f**k. Maybe he just saw the light, vote for the Rwanda bill one day and the next sees the light and becomes a radical socialist.

Yeah no doubt it’ll damage sunak further … he’s done now surely . What a bloody mess

I guess they need to win over Tory voters … but does it make Labour more Tory ?

The cynic in me thought it makes him more likely to be re-elected but apparently he’s not going to stand at the next election so I guess he’s speaking his truth.

He's a mental health Dr in the NHS so has seen first hand what the Tories have done to it and can't be apart of that any longer.

How long has he been a Tory mp ? Bonkers that anyone supporting the nhs can be part of that party . Has it taken him 14 years to realise whilst voting through all those damaging policies

but in the end probably behind the scenes Labour saw this Tory MP as vulnerable because of his work in NHS and have been negotiating this for a while and it is all nicely timed for a few days before these locals. Same as Mail on Sunday will have a massive exclusive on Rayner kicking some homeless bloke in the head tomorrow morning.

I think we will see alot more of this going on. Nowadays political parties like to recruit people who don't actually believe anything. They'll first search through every tweet you've ever made if you've never tweeted anything political 10 out of 10, if you've tweeted anything that may go against any party policy in the future or maybe embarssing for the party your off the short list.

Its also useful as your less likely to rebel against the party whip.

How many more by-elections and defectors before we don’t even need a general election? 😂

If that happens and labour got a majority they'd call an election to get a mandate for their policies

How naive can you be? Maybe reasonable if it didnt come at a time when his party is 20 points before a looming GE.

He’s a careerist who doesnt want to lose his seat. Also a ned of a private health co.

I mean yeah possibly . I have some hopes for a new govt that some of this might be stamped out . The sheer corruption and feathering nests of the Tory’s I don’t think we’ve seen the like of before . Maybe it’s become of thing of all party’s now guess I’ll just wait and see . I don’t like the way Labour have gone but I’m still hopeful of better

If it's in the press on Sunday it is hardly a surprise

Hopefully the heads up helps them get away . Also no coincidence that some of the people that may have taken part in the people smuggling gangs have been caught this week ? Just before the elections

At the same time you're throwing mud at this guy with no evidence at all, just cause he's a Tory or politician or whatever and they're all the same etc etc
