Must've been like 100 people at the Leeds fest secret set last year

Have you seen what Leeds Festival book now though? The Interrupters aren't really a Leeds band, it was always an out of place booking

Reading will never book Rancid, Offspring, Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise now etc.

It's a pop festival with a side of rap and hip hop now.

That Foo's tour has a huge Download gap in it (13th June Manchester - 17th June Hampden). I think they've gotta show up at one UK fest, and while it could be Glasto I don't think they'll book them after they played Pyramid this year, and I don't think R&L will go in for them as they'll be expensive.

I'm now thinking A7X, Foo's, My Chem

Would love for Download to finally get them. Seems too soon for Glastonbury, especially after having played this year. I don’t see them turning up at R/L again so soon either, and they’re probably too big for IOW these days, so here’s hoping this is the year it finally falls in to place for Download.

Can't see it at all on a stadium tour, you've got 100's of thousands of tickets buyers there seeing a lot less need to attend Download which has only ever sold out once ever. I'd bet on Reading getting them over Download if anyone did.

Maybe you’re right - the gap in their dates could easily just be for an additional Manchester or Glasgow date tbh, or just… a gap. Dave seems to struggle with his voice a fair bit these days so wouldn’t surprise me if he needed a few days in between shows every once in a while.

You're right, the only addendum is if it's any fest next year it'll be Glasto. They don't care if their headliners play other tours because it always sells out. As much as there's a gap for download, the one for Glastonbury looks far more conspicuous.

R+L are months later, the European leg of their tour would be wrapping if not wrapped up by that point.

IOW is across the water and obviously FM etc played 02 upon 02 still but people have to travel far from the IOW to get to a mainland date. Much more likely than Download. But if Foo Fighters have a gap like that and don't do Download instead of say Villa Park etc then you have to consider theh just may not be bothered.

Yes as great live as they are, my video from Glastonbury certainly shows the voice struggles a bit in best of you. Not to the point of where he hasn't got it but the deep rasp is a little missing.

Yes, tbh I thought of IOW after I made the point of Reading.

Muse did a post a short while ago about some items going into a download auction ….any chance of them being there?

I reckon AC/DC could be a possibility. They’re playing Powertrip in the states this year so I reckon they might stick to big one off events and they have a lot of History at Donington park.

Would be good if they did it and actually be apart of the festival this time, Andy said he was hoping to announce in October is that when Powertrip takes place?

I saw Iron Maiden on Saturday at the 02, they put on a great gig. However Bruce said at the end, 'We will be back soon, sooner than you may think'. It would be odd for them to do arenas two years in a row and Download seems like probably the only festival that can book them. It would sure look like quite an uninspired booking though if they were booked for next year.

They could easily do their own outdoor show (possibly one of the London parks) or take another stab at a one off stadium date. I can’t see Download booking them for next year so soon.

Yeah I agree with you, just thought it was worth mentioning

Not really sure what exactly is going on with the whole Rammstein situation, and granted Download aren’t exactly flush with headliner options so giving one as strong as Rammstein up would surely sting, but I’m still kind of surprised they’re going ahead with it given it could all implode at any moment. Guess they’re just gonna roll with it in the hope that it all works out and face the possible hurdle when/if it comes up.

So a potential RATM, Rammstein and SOAD/A7X
