ljs attacking labour, cos he backs the snp burning every last drop.

Neil attacking ljs by making sh*t up. (Episode 467)

"The Scottish government has announced a presumption against new oil and gas exploration as part of its new energy strategy.

Scottish ministers say they can no longer support the previous position of "maximising economic recovery" of fossil fuel reserves."

but anyway, looks like green stuff could be the big dividing line in next election campaign, I guess tories feel emboldened by the unpopularity of ulez in outer london. This wouldn't be happening if Bojo was still in charge.

In that case it’s even more important than it already was that we need to have Labour in power. The Tories don’t care about climate change whereas Labour will actually do something about it.

this is where starmer needs to step up and argue for the opposite view...the economic benefits of investment in renewables and moving away from fossil fuels, how there is only so much hydrocarbons in N Sea anyway etc etc and a bit less of the wishywashy non committal fiscal responsibility thing

Sounds great, you should read this story, I'm not usually shocked by political wrongdoing and dodgy dealings but this one takes the biscuit,

"Leaked documents reveal how Liam Kavanagh used Thurrock Council's money to buy luxury goods, including a yacht and a private jet.

The council has been made effectively bankrupt after investing £655m in Mr Kavanagh's solar farm business."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66340991

Full background here,

https://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2023-07-31/the-sunshine-millionaire-how-one-man-took-130m-from-british-taxpayers

What's really eye opening is the fact that other councils and public bodies such as West Yorkshire Police have then lent public money to Thurrock council as an investment, these institutions are always claiming they are short of funds but seem to have spare money to gamble with, the whole thing stinks.

correct me if im wrong as I might have my timings out but the tories are talking about 100s of new oil and gas licenses and labour talking about not approving any ... but what about the ones already approved by the tories in this Parliament .... we will end up getting those won't we ? so actually as damaging as we were before but I guess no more future ones . ? concerns me that . labour should be reversing anything from now .

Aren’t the SNP in a difficult position because whilst the shift to renewables is important in some of their constituencies fossil fuel companies employees quote a few people?
