How long do we give them before the first sacking ? I’m going to go late Jan

yeah...hard to know. I think they will be determined to show a united front to try and avoid oblivion at next election, but there's going to be some difficult decisions made over next few months...

They probably get a month holiday for Xmas so that might save some fighting … I’ve just found out I get 1 day … which is my usual day off anyway but at least everyone gets their home shopping on Xmas eve now … happy to serve

So, does everyone remember that super serious, important fiscal event that was coming on Oct 31st? You know the one that was going to reassure everyone and restore credibility to the country? Well it’s now probably going to be delayed the Tories are now arguing that it’s ok if it is delayed.

At one point it was the saving grace of our country and now it can wait a bit more. They are taking us all for fools.

Rumours the tax bands might be frozen till 2028. I could see the average salary being dragged into the higher rate tax by then if inflation stays high.

Think you are overstating it or looking for something that is not there. The importance of 31 October was clearly in the context of Liz Truss being in power still and trying to convince everyone her policies are not as crazy as they were. 90% of those policies have been scrapped already and we have a new PM, so it is not as important now, so a week or so delay is not the end of the world or some massive political own goal.

Why was it 31 Oct? Any relevance for that date?

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
