Labour won’t win a majority at the next election, it’s incredibly difficult even before the boundary changes. It would need the biggest swing in UK electoral history as it is.

I feel the likelier outcome is a Labour minority government.

I see labour led minority government. I could see SNP agreeing to abstain on votes required to allow labour to form a working government

That’s what I can see happening too. Labour will essentially dare the SNP to vote down their King’s Speech etc.

If they can’t do it now then they are completely unelectable and might as well give up unless they form some kind of pact with the Lib Dem’s .

Traditionally Labour would now have to build back up to form another government so they would need to drastically reduce the Tories majority before having a proper shot in 2030. However the Tories incompetence and Starmer rescuing the party has given them a shot of doing it early.

If Labour don’t win a majority it wouldn’t mean they are ‘unelectable’ it would mean that the mountain was too big to climb, as I say the swing needed is the largest ever.

I understand how it works .... I also know that each party in a constituency starts on 0 votes

If Labour win it will be because of the hatred of the Tories, not because of any semblance of competence by Starmer. He's a Tory enabler

That would be the case if we were starting from scratch but that doesn’t take into account how people voted last election and the need to swing those voters to Labours cause as it’s harder to win over voters that didn’t vote for you previously. It sadly isn’t as simple as each constituency starting on zero.

No sorry, it’s both. Polling indicates that.

The BBC doing their level best to prop up the Tories.

Pure nonsense! The BBC news website had the pound crashing as their main headline last night. The current main headline is about Labour saying the tax cuts benefit the top 1% of the population.

Perhaps you should check it yourself, rather than believe what someone is saying on Twitter?

    • I'm bemused why Jaissle hasn't been confirmed yet. If he and his coaches are already there, surely the paperwork to send this through must be somewhat sorted and confirmation imminent, no?   Feel like clubs are soft on tapping up now as an industry, right? I swear most deals seem to be a case that personal terms are agreed beforehand. In an older life, this Bruno deal has a potential case imo given the use of intermediaries to plant a seed in Bruno's mind this was a good idea (much I'm prepared to accept last season's mess would likely have had Bruno doubting if he wanted to stay regardless) but the industry seems more forgiving of this stuff at present. Wind seems to be picking up that a deal is about to happen regardless. Shame as I'd have been more willing to accept a move to Real Madrid but it is what it is.   Would be nice if we could show some more balls with this stuff tbf. Feel like the owners are taking a strange lesson from Isak last year in that now, we just have to let everyone go at the first sign of trouble, even though other clubs in a similar boat to us are seemingly more willing to turn back and tell pursuers to f**k off.
    • I wouldn't. U2 would almost certainly be doing stadiums and Muse have been saying they have stadium shows booked. They're the likelier of the two to be doing BST Hyde Park, but my expectations would be to expect them turning up at a stadium.
    • Exactly. One rumour doing the rounds was that they were playing 2 stadium shows in Greece next summer and that I would assume it'll be part of the same tour to do a London stadium gig.
    • Fontaines would be excellent, if not for the fact R+L have them this year. Spurs feels bold - though achievable, of course.
    • Start your engines.    Going to hazard a guess at St. Vincent, Faith No More and LCD Soundsystem as the more boutique "coup" options.    Expect Rick Astley one among the Radio 2-friendly bankers.    Let the guesswork commence!
