Trump has been making a whole lot of big promises with zero talk on how he plans to actually enact them. Kamala keeps getting criticised because people don’t think her plans will work etc, whereas Trump says sh*t like ‘I’LL CUT ALL TAXES BY HALF’ and not a peep is said about how improbable it is that he could actually do that. The media really does want this guy to win so that he can keep their headlines rolling.

"Overall violent crime and homicides are down during Joe Biden’s presidency, according to official government measures through 2022 and a private-sector analysis of sampled data through 2023."

Also sad to see Trump’s Twitter post so much sh*t now that it’s clearly run by somebody else. Say what you want

about the guy, but he was a great Twitter poster, if only for how hilariously deranged some of the stuff he said was.

Like a lot of things about Trump, him becoming President kinda ruined the fun of it. If there ever was any.

It's kinda weird looking at satirical shows from 2015 and the early weeks of the 2016 campaign tbf where they just saw him as a novelty campaign who'd fade away when the real politicians stepped up. How different a place we'd be if that had indeed happened, even if Jeb Bush wouldn't exactly have been an inspiring candidate for the Republicans in 2016 as was initially expected.

Yeah but since when did Trump care about facts? I think it's well known by this point that he's clearly living in his own surrealist world where Kamala is somehow simultaneously a communist and a fascist and where he left America alone for 5 minutes and it burned down.

More recent and detailed

"Violent crime has gone down. Figures from large cities show a 9.1% drop in murders from 2020 to 2023, and data from more than 200 cities show a continuing decline so far this year."

That's where the really interesting thing will be if she can get this in a direct and simple message in a debate and call it as BS.

He surely can't grasp the details.

AOC speaking later. She'll probably say f**k Palestine long live Zionism...or something like that.

She is one of the few US politicians to accuse Isreal of genocide.  In a speech from the floor of congress no less.

yet she backed genocide joe

She supported Biden when there were calls for him to step down. She's since endorsed Harris. She's loyal to the Democrats but that doesn't mean she'll support their stance on everything. You've gone on a bit of a leap here.

just not sure how you can accuse Israel of genocide but at same time openly back Joe Biden.

Who's she going to back instead? Loads of labour voters are against the genocide but will have voted Starmer to get the tories out.

she isn't just a voter. Did any Labour MP or shadow minister, especially one with such influence, actually call it genocide?

Just using that term is controversial.

She killed it. I don’t think she’ll ever ascend to the presidency due to her being too progressive, but she’s surely got big things in her future.

She's a good speaker, she has a MLK lilt and rhythm to her speeches.

Whilst the whole primary process in the USA can be a long circus, it does have the benefit of whittling out the poor communicators. Here in the UK the sometimes murky selection process and only usually speaking to small meetings means that a lot of candidates get to be MPs who are simply embarrassing at public speaking or sound like robots when reading auto-cues.

being a great communicator doesn't necessarily mean a great leader...(see Boris Johnson or ....Barack Obama 😬)

    • Hi Everyone!   I need your help. I'm trying work out who was playing at The Wishing Well at 3am on the Monday morning at the 2025 festival - this was once the official setlist had ended. The music was down tempo, bass heavy, kept evolving, just mesmerising. Anyone have any ideas? and/or was there as well?
