Friend works for a publishing company, unfortunately it looks like it’s true.

Yeah I must admit, the person who I spoke to is well placed to know these things. I’m just hoping someone somewhere said something silly and it’s gained momentum.

I work for a publishing company. Not sure how that makes it true?!

Can't find anything to suggest it is true, which is weird in this day and age when rumours normally get verified pretty quickly.

I hope it's not, but he was in his 90s so it wouldn't be the biggest shock. Very very sad though.

I've read every post on this page and I have absolutely no idea what is going on. Something about David Attenborough?

If we don’t mention the possibility of what could happen then it won’t happen.

I haven't read every post on this thread, but can tell you that David Attenborough has deity like status, to my eyes. I once drove across the country to see him give a lecture. After the lecture there was a questions and answer session. During this later session a young lady stood up and asked him if he would marry her. This drove me in to an immediate rage, because he's mine, all mine!

As an aside, here's two of his Desert Island choices, over time;

there was talk of him no longer being with us which fortunately seem to have been fake

Thanks. I half assumed that but couldn't work out how multiple people were saying they'd heard it despite there being absolutely no mention of it on the internet. Just people being dicks I guess.

I only found it on twitter in response to the post by the muel ... but couldnt find it elsewhere ... and we are all aware of the power of twitter to mislead

What was his answer out of interest?

    • Remain self-imposed on not going north of a hundred, but... we're getting to the point now where the starting gun will be above that for some acts.
    • I'm finding the lower line up a little impenetrable this year   Any thoughts on heavier bands a la Slift a few years ago?
    • Will be curious to see how most of those shows sell. Surprised they're playing Leeds and Manchester - much as I am with Megadeth. (Not complaining, mind you.)
    • Biffy Clyro back again for R+L then 😁   To be fair, Biffy Clyro still one of the true "coup" bookings they've had here. Not implausible another Victorious headliner ends up in the mix, given Ashcroft has done it before. Maybe Kasabian, on the back of their arena run?
