Latitude 2018

It's going to be a returning headliner, The Killers and Female according to someone on the official unofficial thread.

Final guess:

Solange/ Alanis Morissette

The Killers

Snow Patrol

Solange's recent album was good, but I'm not convince she's anywhere near big enough in the UK to headline a 40,000 capacity festival. Only time will tell.

this would also fit in with the info about the lineup being unbalanced though.

i'm thinking solange/the killers/alt-j

going for alt-j over bon iver purely because i think there will be at least 1 british headliner.

The user on lat forums says the small headliner hasn't been guessed, but they're playing a Festival in western Europe within 2 weeks of Latitude. I'm assuming this is the female as Flo has been ruled out.

The returning headliner isn't Snow Patrol or Elbow. As far as I can see Alt J not ruled out but they only headlined in 2015? Seems too quick to have them back that's why I haven't considered them.

The Big headliner is The Killers.

The suggestion of Alanis Morrisette on those forums seems a good one. Still can't wrap my head around the idea of Solange headlining..

Yeah that's why I didn't think it'd be them, but they are as Latitude as you can get.

When you think of Latitude you think of beige. When you think of beige you think of alt-J.

Yeah alt-J do seem to be the best fit. As far as I'm aware they've not been announced for any other festivals in the UK yet so it's likely they've got them as an exclusive.

Solange, The Killers, alt-J.

Looks like it’s actually old-J playing the Swiss festival.

It's a lot though isn't it, 4 shows on the bounce in 4 different countries? 2000km of travelling :o

Roughly on stage:

Thursday- 2130

Friday- 2200

Saturday-2230

Sunday- 2130

    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
    • From Magyar’s FB:   ”Our country's energy and water supply is stable. As of today, voluntary consumption reduction is no longer necessary. The turbine at the Paks power plant is generating stably. Thanks to precipitation in Austria, the water level of the Danube will temporarily rise by 20–30 centimeters. Thank you, Hungary, for the unprecedented national unity shown in recent days! We have much to be proud of, and much to carry forward into the period ahead.”
    • I hope it stays under £400.  A lot of us aren't flush with cash.  Charities are great but do they need £1 mil (I jest)
