Hi I've lost my confirmation for my place volunteering and can't remember the company I applied through. Anyone got any ideas? Supposed to be working in South East Corner at Block Nine. I contacted them to ask but the guy didnt know who it was. suggested WBC?

or possibly Avalon bars and events, but don't think they do the SE corner.

Shelter? They provide most staff for Avalon.

Think Glasto-worker was saying he was in hospital for a while.

Shelter also do bar work volunteers but I'm not aware of any bars they run in SE corner, same for Avalon. Most likely as said would be WBC.

Shelter do the bars for Avalon, didn't have any of the SE Corner bars in 2011 and I doubt that will have changed, so WBC would be the best bet.

You won't be working for WBC.  We don't get told which bar we're working on, or when, until we arrive on site, as the staffing people will still be desperately trying to work out the rotas.  We usually find out our first shift by Wednesday afternoon, but often still haven't been told the wheres/whens for the rest of the festival until Friday morning.  Plus, you volunteer for WBC via an organisation you're a member of - usually a Union.  I don't know who runs bars in Block 9, but I don't think WBC run any in the South East corner.  

There are a few public and crew bars in the vicinity of Block 9 - it's going to be tricky to find out which one.  If you can't find that email, you might have to bite the bullet and contact Block 9 and try and plead with them to give you a list of all bars they've got this year, along with the name of the organisation that's running them.  (A quick Google search will pull up a Block9 Facebook page.)  I'd get onto it quickly though, as the bar companies are going into preparation overdrive about now.

sadly I am in and out of hospital due to a artery bypass that has blocked - I was called back but they could not operate as the incisions have to heal up first - I see my Consultant tomorrow so will find out when they want me back - its likely to be a 7+ day stay for the next Operation

re ' South East Corner at Block Nine. ' - does not sound a WBC Bar to me as they certainly have had none in previous years + if you were a  WBC volunteer ' you would not have been allocated a bar at this stage '

even Managers only found out last week which bar they are working in - most  volunteers only find out that info once they are on site - I am the only person who is allowed to pick where I work { and I had to wait 25 years for that concession } so if you are sure ' then its not with the WBC.

here is the dates that a volunteer would be contacted

Organisers were sent out their WBC allocation 4 April - they would then let his/her team know who was on the list

Organiser would then confirm places by 16 April to the WBC 

WBC wrote to all the volunteers on 3 May 

the deadline for volunteers to book a coach 10th May.

this is more important than it sounds - its also confirming that they are free to work

anyone who missed that deadline would lose their place 

WBC wrote to all the volunteers on 6 June asking them to complete a Event specific Licensing Information pack

WBC will be in touch 13 June Confirming all the Coach reservation

there is a lot of bars not connected to wbc or Avalon/shelter in that area so you will have to check back on e-mails

Like WBC, Shelter/Avalon volunteers don't find out where they are working till they are on site. Also - definitely nothing in Block 9.

thanks - its all touch and go at this stage and it all depends when they can fit me in -  That  Operation was at the start of May  - I was walking fine after the Operation but 9 days after leaving that hospital it stopped working and why I was readmitted 19 May and it has got progressively worse since then.

this is a big Operation so once I enter I cant expect to be released for at least 7+ days.

one side of me wants it next week but the other side wants it after Glasto but I only have two weeks before Latitude
