Where it's at cutting edge beats with a refreshing global emphasis and a likely almoghty bangerfest?

Or insufferable EDM nonsense for taps aff bros called Chad and altogether best avoided by right thinking cognoscenti?

I vote the top one

Although Chad is quite a fan... but so is Beyoncé.

Top one. Saw them at Benicassim last year, really good

I saw them a few years ago off the back of the first album (which I enjoyed) and it was awful, featuring someone wandering around the stage in a Major Lazer inflatable suit, Diplo zorbing badly and taking his top off/waving it around his head, and nonsense EDM music. I was aghast but the crowd were going nuts! I think I might be about 20 years too old though... won't be making that mistake again

They're a lot more edm-y live than they sound on record.

It's essentially a DJ set playing all their big tunes mixed in with stuff like swedish house mafia and snoop dogg and everywhere in between

Aye but from what I recall of seeing their footage on streams/telly a few years back, they have hype men getting the crowd going and dancers and pyro and stuff so it's not just yer man Wesley bobbing about behind the decks.

They've had some crap chart hits since I saw those though. Stuff like Lean On will probably suck the atmosphere out of the field.

I'll be honest, i'd never heard them/heard of them till a few days ago. Someone put a clip up on here somewhere and was pretty dreadful. It's the EDM equivalent of Agadoo

Yeah I've seen them a couple of times live and love it. They've stolen the inflatable hamster ball crowd surf from the flips as well.

Most of their songs they play live are remixed a lot so it's more dancier, they closed with the original version of Lean On at Parklife for like a less intense closer i think

Ah sounds about fair.

And they probably look cooler when doing it than ol' Wayne.

Is there a specific dance we have to learn like Oops Upside Your Head or the Lionel Richie one?

Daggering, mate.

I think I'm right in saying that The Prodigy did it before the 'Is David Bowie Dying?' hitmakers.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
