Sorry for being miserable but is it just me who doesn't care about Shangri La? It's too busy to see or enjoy anything, everyone there is utterly fucked (by no means a bad thing) and often obnoxious, and I'm not a lover of the sort of music that most places down there pump out.

Feels like a place everyone goes to just to tick it off.

I have had some brilliant times in Shangri-la, and some less brilliant times, I think it all depends on when you are in there to be honest, nothing down there has come close to 2010 in Shangri-La, that for me was the absolute pinnacle.

I agree, too crowded too much sound bleed from all the different stages, I think unless you're completely fucked it will never be that enjoyable. Didn't make it in their once last year as the signs said it was full each time we even went near it so didn't bother, didn't miss it at all. That said this year I'm definitely going to go in early one night and give it another chance.

Could be mid-update?  I searched this forum for the word "Intoleranch" as a unique word and it didn't come up.

I think (although I'm beginning to doubt my memory now) that that section was added shortly after last year's festival.

IMO nothing has topped the lanes and micro venues of the circa 2010 incarnation either. "Fish & Tits" featuring live mermaids and dancers dressed as birds of prey was a definite highlight.

    • Oh yeah I'd forgotten about their mad scramble to get back from LA to Glastonbury. Though at least there you can blame multiple flight cancellations. I do agree though that it's fair to ask why you'd risk a similar sh*t show.
    • So who's got a good rain dance in the locker, then? Now we're in August the weather watchers can come out of hiding.    Already having flashbacks to last year (the dust cloud of doom at the crossroads by the Courtyard entrance).   Also got to be looking sketchy for the fire/fireworks on the Sunday. Might be a controversial opinion but wouldn't mind it - the fencing annoyance isn't worth the 10 mins of 'oooohhh, aaahhhh', plus the raining of hot embers last year!
