The void

This time of year really is the void according to The Thingy, no real news expected until Feb, the odd tour info dribbling out with vague glasto shaped holes in, best we can hope for in the coming weeks would be legend slot info.

Does anyone know of any ways to fill the void? I suppose I could start Christmas shopping, isn't it black Friday today? I should probably go elbow some people in ASDA to try and get a 50" TV for slightly less than normal.

There have of course been 2 late November announcements in recent years. U2 in 2009 and Lionel in 2014.

Worth noting though that there has never been more than one headliner announced the year before the festival. But as we know, There Is No Pattern so we'll probably hear about Foos today.

Could do an early CD swap but it would essentially be the lists in the Radiothread.

The other options are wild speculation (Hope of the States to reform for a one-off Glastonbury show), winter sale camping bargains and meticulously discussing every single tiny aspect of the trip to the farm.

I don't mind too much that it's the quiet period. Although I'm obviously massively excited for the festival, I don't want it to come and go too quickly, and I enjoy the slow build up.

Holiday season will kick in soon and then it'll be new year before we know it. Then I'm going to dig out all my camping gear and check through it and consider what I need to purchase.

I'm gonna guess and say we'll get the legend mid to late January, 2nd headliner late Feb (Foos), 3rd with the poster.

I'm concentrating on finding a holiday for after Glastonbury so I have something to look forward to once it's all over. Ideally want to throw another festival in the mix too.

I'm going to India for three weeks over Xmas and New Year. My plan is to eat loads of curry, go to trance parties in Goa and get the shits if you want to come with.

Shits/trance combo. Be careful or wear a big nappy.

This sounds like heaven to me, shits 'n' all.

You could try have  a debate on all things political with E Festivals on this thread -  that should fill your void right up to Spring :D

I've been avoiding that one! Much rather look at pics of glasto food or lists that always end in 9. Pablo Honey

The best kinds of lists :)

It's all about listening to as much music as possible over the next few months really.  By the time June comes around I want to be at a solid mix of bands I'm excited about seeing and wandering across stuff I've never heard of by chance.

And thinking about the food.  Oh God the food...

Personally I am looking forward to the food more than the Foos.
