Digital Monkey (Womad)
Shame Bill Werbeniuk is no longer with us - bet he would enjoy the Glasto vibe "I''ve had 24 pints of extra strong lager and 8 double vodkas and I''m still not drunk" - Bill after his last professional match. Homer
Annoyingly I'm back in Bristol when this is on! http://www.thesocial.com/events/steve-davis-kavus-torabi-interesting-alternative/
stuartbert two hats
Was the set any good? I know it was massively and annoyingly oversubscribed, but for the people who actually got in the tent, were the tunes any good?
the wonderwhy
Yeah I didn't realise how busy it was until I looked out the tent afterwards. I mean I had absolutely no idea what the hell he was playing but I had a great time.

To SD's credit he very much stuck to his guns and played the tunes he likes to play. I actually quite enjoyed the tunes, but wouldn't really say it was particularly danceable. The big discussion in our group was around the fact that he doesn't really do much in the way of DJing. It seems like he chose the tunes, let the guys behind him do the DJ work, and waved at the crowd a bit. So depends on whether that agrees with you or not I guess! Homer
There is a link to his set in the link I put above. I'm 35 mins in. It's actually more prog than techno (maybe his set at Bloc was a different slant?). It's actually pretty interesting (no pun intended); he's just dropped Tomorrow Never Knows (that must have been a relief at the time!). CaledonianGonzo
Please tell me there was a lot of lolzing bantz-merchants dressed up in dinner suits looking miserable when he didn't play Snooker Loopy.

At Blue Dot he had the Revolver vinyl cover out and was waving it at the crowd. I was trying to remember what song he played off it and yeah it was Tomorrow Never Knows

Get someone mixing on cd decks behind you where no one can see them, while you pretend to put vinyl on the 1210's.
