I heard they're putting a great show and energy. The thing is that metal,  especially in a language I dont understand is not my thing..

Rammstein is probably the best live band ever in terms of pyrotechnical effects, theatre etc; it's different from every other acts (maybe Gütterdammerung could be in the same idea), but no way to miss it. It's maybe not the best act in terms of music, but it's an incredible show, and even if you don't like metal etc, it doesn't matter, it's an unique experience of death ahah ! Just watch any live performance ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSaa3vC_n2k

So far I will be watching, not thinking of clashes just yet.. :o

Thursday - Guy Garvey, New Order, Disclosure. Although not overly bothered by any of them, mild passing interest.

Friday - Daughter, Offspring, Richard Hawley, At the drive in

Saturday - Savages, TDCC, Editors, PJ Harvey, RHCP

Sunday - Iggy, Foals, Beck, Jamie xx

So not amazing, just enough to justify the trip though. Saying that its who I would watch at a push, must sees would be Daughter/Editors/PJ Harvey.

My must and really like to see:

Thursday: Paul McCartney, Kaiser Chiefs, Gutterdammerung, Ellie Goulding

Friday: Rammstein, Bring me the Horizon, The Offspring, Parov Stelar, The 1975

Saterday: RHCP, Band of Horses, Kensington, Lost Frequencies

Sunday: F+TM, Iggy Pop, Bear's den, Skunk Anansie, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Beck

Which is okay for me.. Even though only 5 of them are considered true must sees

I'm not seeing a show for pyrotechnical effects reasons, I like things simple like Pearl Jam did with only a poster behind them (though they had the light bulbs stuff for Porch).

anyway I'll give Rammstein In Amerika  a try, Thanx guys :)

How popular are The 1975 in Belgium, one of the times I saw them was in the Festival Republic tent at Leeds the summer that Chocolate was released and it was dangerously crammed, I hope to not have a repeat of that in Klub C. Really RW need to position screens outside of the tents for those that can't get in to still be able to watch. Anyway I'm glad to see The 1975 announced.

Anyway, it's shaping up to be an epic week with Biffy playing my hometown of Belfast on the Saturday before I leave, Sigur Ros playing Dublin on the Sunday and then I fly out to Brussels on the Monday to spend a few days in Belgium before the festival kicks off.

This is how I feel, you can't chuck a pyro show at me to make up for the fact an act actually produce quite shite and pointless music, that I can't understand anyway as it's in German.

Just doesn't do anything for me, I'd actually rather see a dj act that I like as however much of it is live/isn't live, many of them put out a top light and visual show and it's songs that you like ( if you like them that is).

Nice!

I know this isnt exactly the right topic but Im lookimg for relatively high profile band show for the Monday or Tuesday before the Festival, either in the UK or Belgium.  Does anyone know of a site/app that allow to search shows in a country (instead of in cities,  like songkick etc).

Rammstein aren't a bad band musically. They are one of the best industrial metal bands ever. They are for sure the biggest but also in top five in terms of quality.

You can't say it's "quite shite and pointless music" because you don't like it. It's simply isn't true.

I'm afraid if I can stand there for 1.5 hrs, not understand anything they are saying and a pyro show be all I'm getting out of it then yes I can.

I'm not a fan of Rammstein at all, I have to say that I was a metalhead in my teenage and I have never had a Rammstein song in my mp3 because it had simply no effects on me. Moreover I perfectly feel what says @e2p2 about "simple" things, without effects like Pearl Jam (this is my fav band too ahah cheers!). But you can't compare a light show of a DJ to a pyro show by Rammstein.... Rammstein is way more spectacular... And I'm not biased at all ! It's something really different, it's like an horror movie with something deeper. It's theatre, improbable technologies, fire, wings, sextoys full of alcohol etc. When you'll go to sleep the staff won't have finished to clean the stage yet... Their music takes sense on stage ;)

In my own, the act I'm waiting for is Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats :) I think it will finish like the Cat Empire last year, with people screaming the last song while leaving the Barn when the concert is over !

I love rammstein and they're one of the tightest metal acts around. All opinions but they're the best act on the bill for me, stage show or not.

In response to gigs around then, ZZ top are playing on Brussels on the Tuesday night before werchter. That's the only big band playing close by I think so far

How many Rammstein songs have you actually listened to?

Just imagine if everyone went through life saying "it's in a foreign language, must be shite".

If you've not seen them live, you need to give them a chance. As I've said before check out the Amerika DVD.

Nah sorry, I'm buying it. The fact is, the hype is for the pyro show, without that, they really wouldn't be an act you would care for.

I'm not comparing a DJ to a pyro show, I'm saying a top visual/light show still takes some doing and I do actually enjoy a portion of pop so for me I'd rather it. Rammstein aren't the only act to use pyro, Macca in fact used a load of it for his o2 arena show and Slipknot don't shy away from it.

That's fair enough, it wouldn't interest me at all to see it. I would probably turn down a ticket that was very cheap even just based on I'd rather spend my time doing something I like.

Quite a few actually, not everyone has to have that opinion but where others get excited about their announcement for their festival, it only deters me from it.

I can't understand anything sigur ros are singing about, one of the best live bands on the planet though.

I sympthize with thewayiam here. If he doesn't like the music (and I don't either), no amount of pyros or effects can make the show worth watching. It's a music show after all.

No one here understands that you are allowed to like different music to them. I'm not saying I have a problem or slating them (the band maybe) for liking them.

Again that's opinion, I wouldn't turn up to one of their shows, and that's as much to do with what language they sing in as it is to do with the fact they are just not my thing.

Thanx! Though I'll probably try to catch them at Glastonbury.

I agree with you about Sigur Ros, they're amazing,  especially live.  My comment was about the combination of Metal and a language I don't know.

Thewayiam, you said that Rammstein   "produce quite shite and pointless music"

It's one thing to not like something and other to say stuff like that and then defend yourself by saying  "No one here understands that you are allowed to like different music to them."

e2p2 said that he doesn't like it. Nobody is saying a bad word to him because one has every right to not like something.

That's two different things. To me, Rammstein do exactly that but I am not sat here asking people wtf they would go and watch it as they have an opinion and right to like it or dislike too.

The 2nd part of you're argument is more towards Radiohead as you can't be seen to say you dislike them or it's wrong, you like them or you're opinion isn't valid. And in all seriousness, Muse and Coldplay who were inspired by them and went onto produce Radiohead elements but in their own style produced a much better output, but again that's my thoughts.

Again in fairness, nobody else will get criticized for having an opinion on here like I will anyway.

Opinions and all but I'm honestly baffled someone could actually think that...

I mean Muse had some good tunes (still nowhere near Radiohead), as for Coldplay, they literally don't have a single song that would get into my Radiohead top 50 (or even more).
