Where's the huge mural mocking Ed Miliband?

478956448-large-mural-depicting-british-

If Ed Miliband ever does anything to deserve one he'll get one.

Also...

Creative, artistic people are almost always left-wing/liberal.

I'd like to think it's because if you've got the imagination required to write a song or make a piece of art, then you can more easily imagine what its like to be unemployed, a minority, etc.

It'll also be because the lot currently in power have a habit of cutting arts funding. Vicous circle.

so you'd happily wish people dead, because their political views differ from yours? regardless of my political persuasion, thats a bit fucked up.

Osborne and IDS don't seem to mind people dying, so why should we? https://www.change.org/p/hm-courts-and-tribunal-service-publish-stats-showing-how-many-people-have-died-after-their-benefits-stopped

what you're missing is that the tories never play nicely with the oiks. ;)

The oiks only exist for the tories to exploit.

this.

Efests has done herself proud here, with her noble and eloquent users making some wonderful posts. I'm afraid have to bring the tone down by putting in that if you go to Ascot, or any other horse racing event, you're partaking in horrible horrible shit. Fucking deepest circle of hell those places. Got into an argument the other day with some prick on Facebook who mouthed off about bullfighting (which is vile, don't misunderstand me), but goes to Aintree. In my mind, at least the Spanish have the balls to face up to the barbarism they're there to celebrate, at least one in every thousand bulls gets to disembowel the cowardly little fuck that's making money off his misery and degradation.

As a Tory I find it amusing to see some of these replies.

Of course there will be some who's intellect is a bit "low" and no doubt they "swallow the party line"  and spout nonsense.

Equally there will a be a few who fundamentally believe in left wing politics and put up a decent show.

To say that Conservatism is selfish is totally wrong imo.

Conservatism (as I see it anyway) is about promoting equality of opportunity.  Equality itself is  a horrible socialist value that has no place in our society, but equal  OPPORTUNITY should be strived for.

There should, of course, be a safety net, but that's exactly what it should be- a short term safety net not a lifestyle choice.

I had a highly amusing debate with the CND last time I was at Glasto.  In the end he admitted that his facts were WRONG...........yet still didn't remove his lies............

Now I didn't care, I knew they were BS, but 95% of the  people at the festival would have taken the facts as true.........

Then again  it's a festival, not important at all in the grand scheme of things.

Yes but you're a massive c**t so you're bound to think like that.

The Tories prey on the most vulnerable in society, take away workers' rights, and they're currently fighting to scrap the Human Rights Act. Their ideology has no place at Glastonbury.

Really they prey on the most vulnerable?

Workers rights?  Surely the supply of labour should be based on mutual benefit?  Or maybe you would like to explain why this shouldn't be the case?

The human rights act?  Dont make me laugh.  I hope they do scrap it as it's the biggest load of bollocks that we have had imposed on us in a LONG time.

Or maybe you enjoy the fact that terrorists can live here, claim benefits paid for by OUR money, and preach politics of hate that lead to UK citizens dying?

No place at Glastonbury?  What gives YOU the right to say what is "acceptable" or otherwise at a music festival?

You're either a troll wasting your Friday night trying to get a rise from people, or you actually believe what you post. It doesn't really bother me much, the end result is the same. One side of me hopes that one day you'll figure out what that hollow, gnawing feeling inside yourself is, and the other side of me hope that realisation will come too late to do anything about it.

Whoa whoa whoa

Gotta pull you up there on a classic right-wing mistake. From the lofty heights of the successful right wing where things are calm and peaceful, because all the messy dross have been shoved to the bottom, it might appear that there's a lot of snapping dogs in the left - but that is a helpless reaction to the aloof indifference of the right.

When you dismiss very strongly felt beliefs and feelings as "narrow minded" you are aggressively fuelling the fires that lead to that anger and snapping in the first place.

This might be why you're not getting the anger and rage in some of the festival's fringes. Those people on the fringes have been through hell - I'd strongly recommend having a read up on the Battle of the Beanfield and imagining how that would affect your feelings - have a look at other great tory moments such as the breaking of the strikes and the criminal justice act....

These things are nigh-on incomprehensible from a peaceful upper-middle class existence with a nice house and garden and peaceful surroundings - but it's a small percentage who get to live like that and the majority are easily forgotten when they're out of sight and earshot. It's not even intentional - it's just how life is if that's what you're used to. You have to breach the comfort zone to find it then suddenly there's a wall of raw emotion and deeply upset people

When someone's really angry it's best to see if you can work out whether they've got cause before dismissing it - outbursts of anger aren't always a sign of weakness, but often a sign of having to bottle it up for too long.

But surely it's all relative.

e.g. the " Upper Middle Classes" probably don't think of themselves as such.

Do they jealously hate the "Lower Upper Classes"? Probably not, at least not in the main.

Ok so that established, where do you draw the line?

The "Upper Lower Class" , are they happy or do they have this hate?

"Middle Lower"?

"Lower Lower"  - who are these people?  Benefit claimants?  They presumably hate everyone because they are in "this" situation?

Sorry mate, but you will have to do better than this.

All very subjective views without actually challenging the points made.

Now how am I supposed to take you seriously?

Ok I am going to put my head above the parapet and say what I would like to(mostly because I am a bit drunk).

I did not vote Tory, maybe I will at some point in the future, maybe I won't, I have voted Labour in the past, but if I did it would be for idealogical reasons. I am a liberation, I won't go in to my own personal politics as that is some what off the topic, but I fully understand the background at Glastonbury, and understand the reasons for the Idealogical standing of the festival, and am not surprised or upset by any of the things in Shangri-La or the Leftfeild, I am fully open to honest debate and some of the comments that have been expressed here are quite hard to stomach "the only good Tory is a Dead Tory"... Seriously guys sort it out....

Now I know its a piss take  :sarcastic:

How so?

Ok let's choose a random consequence of this act.

Siraj Yassin Abdullah Ali, sentenced to nine years in jail for his role in the Islamist bomb plot of July 21, 2005, has been released after serving half his term and is now walking the streets of London because his “human rights” mean he cannot be deported to his native eritrea.

I presume you are happy with that?

It's so simple......

If you are a selfish prick, go to Henley Reggata, go to the Polo, go to Ascot, leave the gregarious friendly people at Glastonbury alone. It's not for you.

Ok tell me why you think it IS selfish.

Because they go out of their way to attack social mobility - preferring to protect their place at the top of society rather than risk having to share their (usually unearned) extortionate personal wealth with those born into less priveledged families? Because their way of dealing with the fact the last five years of austerity were self-defeating is to inflict further university debt on those who were barely out of nappies when the economic crash happened rather than prosecuting their city chums who caused it? Because they refused to tell the electorate of £12bn of welfare cuts before being voted back in, preferring to do the wrong thing in order to keep their jobs rather than be honest for the good of the country?

The very fact 'shy Tories' are a thing that exists tells you everything that needs to be said about the moral values held by the Conservatvies and their supporters, but interacting with RW nutjobs isn't my Friday night thrill of choice so I shall here bid thee goodnight.

    • It fits the logic I think.    Question: the royal link mail I have gives an error, but it does say in the email that the tracking number may not be recognised until the tickets have been attempted to be delivered. Is that the same for anyone here and is it a normal UK mail thing that the tracking works AFTER and not BEFORE something reaches its destination?    Luckily I have full trust in my usual postman so as long as he doesn't have a day off I know he'll do the right thing but I wouldn't mind anticipating a bit 🙂
    • i definitely want to get another bearded under my belt. a sunny one would be nice tho 😅😅
    • These challenges, ranging from internal conflicts to external pressures, require adept handling and strategic resolution. Organizational issues training equips employees and leaders with the skills and knowledge to identify, address, and mitigate these challenges effectively. This blog explores the significance of organizational issues training and how it can fortify an organization against various hurdles. Understanding Organizational Issues Organizational issues encompass a wide range of problems that can affect the efficiency, culture, and performance of a company. Common issues include: Communication Breakdowns: Miscommunication or lack of communication can lead to misunderstandings, errors, and decreased morale. Conflict Management: Interpersonal conflicts or departmental disputes can disrupt workflows and create a toxic work environment. Change Resistance: Employees may resist changes due to fear of the unknown, lack of trust, or inadequate communication. Employee Engagement: Low levels of engagement and motivation can lead to decreased productivity and higher turnover rates. Operational Inefficiencies: Inefficient processes and systems can waste resources and reduce profitability. Cultural Misalignment: Misalignment between organizational culture and business objectives can impede strategic initiatives. The Role of Organizational Issues Training Organizational issues training focuses on equipping employees with the tools and techniques needed to navigate and resolve these challenges. Here’s why it is crucial: 1. Enhancing Communication Skills Effective communication is the cornerstone of a healthy organization. Training programs can help employees develop active listening skills, clear articulation, and the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. Improved communication reduces misunderstandings and fosters a collaborative environment. 2. Developing Conflict Resolution Abilities Conflict is inevitable in any organization, but it doesn’t have to be detrimental. Training equips employees with conflict resolution skills, such as negotiation, mediation, and problem-solving techniques. This helps in transforming conflicts into opportunities for growth and innovation. 3. Facilitating Change Management Change is a constant in today’s business world. Training programs on change management help employees understand the dynamics of change, develop adaptability, and learn strategies to cope with and support organizational changes. This reduces resistance and enhances the successful implementation of new initiatives. 4. Boosting Employee Engagement Engaged employees are more productive, committed, and likely to stay with the company. Training on employee engagement strategies can help managers and leaders create a motivating work environment, recognize and reward contributions, and build strong, supportive teams. 5. Improving Operational Efficiency Training in lean management, process improvement, and project management can help employees identify inefficiencies and develop solutions to streamline operations. This leads to better resource utilization, reduced costs, and improved overall performance. 6. Aligning Organizational Culture Training programs can reinforce the organization’s values, mission, and vision, ensuring that all employees are aligned with the cultural and strategic goals of the company. This alignment fosters a cohesive work environment where everyone works towards common objectives. Key Components of Organizational Issues Training 1. Communication Workshops Interactive workshops focusing on verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, and feedback techniques help employees communicate more effectively and collaboratively. 2. Conflict Management Seminars Seminars that cover conflict resolution styles, negotiation tactics, and mediation processes provide employees with practical tools to handle disputes constructively. 3. Change Management Courses Courses that address the psychology of change, strategies for managing resistance, and frameworks for leading change initiatives help employees navigate transitions smoothly. 4. Engagement and Motivation Training Training programs that focus on motivational theories, employee recognition strategies, and team-building activities boost morale and foster a positive work environment. 5. Process Improvement Training Training in methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and Total Quality Management (TQM) empowers employees to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement. 6. Cultural Alignment Programs Programs that emphasize organizational values, ethical standards, and cultural integration help employees align their behavior with the company’s strategic goals. Implementing Effective Organizational Issues Training 1. Needs Assessment Conducting a thorough needs assessment helps identify the specific organizational issues that need to be addressed. This ensures that training programs are relevant and targeted. 2. Tailored Training Solutions Customized training programs that reflect the unique context and challenges of the organization are more effective than generic ones. Tailored solutions ensure that the training addresses specific needs and objectives. 3. Interactive and Experiential Learning Interactive workshops, role-playing, and real-world simulations enhance engagement and retention. Experiential learning methods provide practical experience in dealing with organizational issues. 4. Continuous Improvement Organizational issues training should be an ongoing effort. Regular refresher courses, advanced training sessions, and continuous learning opportunities help employees stay updated and improve their skills over time. 5. Evaluation and Feedback Assessing the impact of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics helps in refining and improving the training initiatives. Continuous evaluation ensures that the training remains effective and relevant.   https://www.sprintzeal.com/
