Lol finishing 2nd in Belgium's group means you face either our group winner or a 3rd placed team in the QF.

Winning their group means you'd (probably) play Germany in the QF.

Good result for Belgium, then :P

Although it also means they will play the runner up of Group D in the last 16 - i'd fancy Croatia or Spain against that Belgian performance

They play the runner up of that group if they win their group. If they finish second they play the winner of Portugal's group.

Win the group - runner up of Spain's group (probably Croatia), then Germany

Runner up in the group - winner of group F (probably Portugal/Austria), then probably winner of our group

I'd much rather be faced with the second scenario.

Sorry yep you are correct - was reading the wall chart at work from too much of a distance.

And yes the second route definitely looks a better option. But again, going on last nights performance they might be lucky to get out the group, it was like watching England from a few years ago, so slow.

Not being bitter at all about Everton's 1 trip into the champions league and getting a Spanish club in the qualifiers when nobody wanted the UK to have 5 teams in the draw but Blatter has admitted past European draws have been fixed:

Great point for Iceland today, did a great job in neutralizing ronaldo . The smaller nations again showing they can hold their own to those who moaned about the dilution in quality for the extra eight teams.

yep - loudest cheer so far from me when that goal went in. :D

It's always lovely to see skippy brought back down to planet earth.

Looks like its going to be a long night in Lille. Fans singing we're "England and Wales, Fuck off Russia We're England and Wales" a Russian threw a firecracker into the crowd and it then kicked off with the police firing tear gas.

I wondered why Roy took 5 strikers. I didn't think they'd all get on the pitch in the same game. Still there's no formation there and Germany or even Italy would rip that team apart.

Hopefully something positive comes from it and we don't see sterling or Lallana in the next match.

Deserved win for England. Very positive to keep going and looking for a winner.

Its a tough one to swallow for us to get so close to the point. To me the difference was the strength in depth. Things aren't going well for England they have 2 top premiership strikers waiting. Wales at the same time bought on 2 championship level players.

In a way England is always a terrible game for us, they are effectively Wales with better players. There's nothing we can ever seem to do to surprise them.

Russia game big for us now, a win puts us second, someone told me that may be a better position to finish in terms of opponents than winning the group. I'm not too confident about winning that game. The players are giving everything, but gallant defence apart we aren't playing well.

One thing is for certain, the Euro 2016 winner ain't coming from Group B.

Hopefully we've now seen the last of a certain player in an England shirt...

When did Allardyce become Wales manager?

I think it's the weakest group. The fact we have played pretty mediocre and will probably Come second if we draw the last game is amazing.

I thought lallanna was pretty good this tournament and today. A lot better than I expected from him (not saying much).

Hart at fault, again. Kane isolated, rooney impressive.

I definitely think Wales are better than Russia. How that translates into result is a different matter.

What? I don't like Lallana in general but he's been one of our best players this tournament along with the full backs and Rooney.

Sterling absolute gash once again. If he didn't move for £50m last Summer he wouldn't have gotten this much gametime this tournament.

Sterling obviously alot worse. Lallana? honestly I'm racking my brains but can't think of anything of note he's done whilst Rashford who came on for him there are two moments which stand out. He's tidy enough but for his position of attacking mid I don't think he really excels in any key area.. goals scored, beating players, assists?

Thought I was being harsh so googled last season. he's below Milner, Ali, Barkley and Drinkwater for assists

Ali, Barkley and Noble for goals:

As I said, in general I'm not a fan, but these last two games he's been one of our better players.

He did nothing of note? He gave Sterling a chance on a plate at 0-0.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
