Arcadia Line-Up

Mr November

Haha, I don't know much about Skream to be honest so if he's playing 6 times, I'll miss him 6 times.

There's already far more dance/electronic acts that I know playing than I can possibly see, so decisions will have to be made.

There may be some argument in the group before the inevitable splitting up!

True dat. Spoilt for choice. It wasn't really a whinge was just something I've noticed, perhaps more this year because the lineups have been released individually.

I think the sheer volume of dance stuff available is growing year on year.

Last year I was amazed at the wealth of electronic music all over the site at all hours of the day.

Many dance festivals would kill to have anything like that quality.

This year, it seems to be as much if not more.

We'll know on Tuesday when the full lineup comes out but I'd be surprised if a few people aren't left thinking 'Fuck I might not make it to any of the main stages at all at this rate!'

Yeh he's another one. I wonder how much less Djs charge for doing sets if they're already on site. Buy 2 slots get one free lol.

Skream gets on my tits a bit to be honest. I never really liked Dubstep anyway and now he's jumped on the house band wagon he seems to get loads of respect from the house elite, Why? because they're all mates? I'd much rather watch a Dusky solo set than a Dusky b2b Skream set where Skreams so fucked he's dribbling over the decks.

Wish I could give multiple reputation to one post! he Was a brilliant Dubstep producer but since jumping on the house thing I don't understand why everyone loves him?! Edited by Harry3

Not much for me on Friday, just Skream!

Saturday, really cool to see Spor on there, thought he was still doing the Feed Me thing, will try & go to that along with DC Breaks.

Only Redlight I'd be interested on Sunday.

He released a new Spor album at the beginning of the year

How many sets is Skream doing over the weekend, pretty sure he has been in pretty much every announcement haha.

Groove Armada though :)

Thought the same thing, he's playing for like 7hrs over the course of the festival.

I really hope foreign beggars don't clash with skepta or yeezy because I missed them in the pussy parlour on the Sunday of 2010 because I was compleatly exhausted by then.

I do actually like Skream. His sets can be hit and miss but he's a lot better than lots of other popular 'house' DJs now, see Hannah Wants, MK etc. The last comment is relevant though, if he's playing late on he's guaranteed to be a mess, and his fucked sets are unsurprisingly the questionable ones from what I've seen.

Also yeah, he is nowhere near Dusky's league and will be a tiny bit annoyed if they're not playing elsewhere (maybe they've been announced but haven't seen?) as they are top quality.

so is it actually Altern 8 reforming, or mark archer doing a dj set?

I thought there was some legal thing where he couldn't call himself altern-8 if just playing solo?

can't say im overly keen on the lineups...maybe the Friday, though adam bayer, I just find a tad dull.

will try an catch the new 11 show though and hoping the sound will be a lot better this time around...very low in 2013 (and that was when we were right inside the flame circle below the body of the spider

Fingers crossed for Dusky, I've seen them twice now and I was that fucked both times I've got no recollection of them but I know I enjoyed it...

I get really excited showing first timers this, as I was beyond belief when I first saw it.

I pretty much rate the opening shows at least as a first timer must. I get a shiver of excitement after all these years of it remembering various newbies faces when it first fires with them underneath...

PRAYING they bring back the surface map projection and countdown that made 2013's Arcadia so goddamn special no matter the whinges about location

He's free to DJ under the Altern 8 name now although when they played the Bangface Weekender a couple of months back it was reformation of sorts as he's enlisted Joshu Doherty (AGT Rave Cru/Posthuman) as a member (as I don't think Chris has any interest these days). There was one of the original dancers and the original MC as well, so as close to a reformed Altern 8 as you will ever get. It was an absolutely blinding set too, with the new material sounding massive. I'm not sure if that will be the same for the Arcadia set but suspect it may be the two of them plus the MC again,

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
