Proposing at Glastonbury

Hi

Did mention this in another thread but noone seemed to be able to help. I seem to remember a thread a while back where someone asked for advice re proposing to their partner at Glastonbury. I've tried to find the thread but can't and would love to see it if possible.

Anyway, i am going to do this this year. I've already got a vague idea where/when and how but i am keen to hear of any ideas people may have re any really nice places or any previous Glastonbury proposals they have seen that were quite good. just so i can fine tune the ideas i've already got to make it extra good.

Thanks in advance!

What ideas do you have already?

My husband proposed at the stone circle in the day while we were sitting overlooking the site. Then we went and found me a festival engagement ring in the market - which I still wear to festivals as I don't want to lose my wedding/engagement rings!

Go on lad.

The park towers a great shout but might be a little congested. Privacy isn't something that you'll get up there (unless you candidly explain to people the situation. They might give you a window).

Anywhere up on the park hill would be a good place. You get such an overwhelming view of the festivals skyline.

All the best with it though mate :)

oh yeah that's another thing- the ring will be coming with me. how safe are these lockers? don't fancy carrying it around with me for a few days.

Safest part of the festival, other than the kidz field but judging by what i read about Bodger and Badger im not so sure.

I proposed to our lass during one of our fav bands, but went with the intention of getting a temporary ring from the stalls. Couldn't find owt until I stumbled across the green fields and discovered a jewellery work shop. I booked to go in the morning and hand crafted a strip of silver into a ring with G 2013 engraved inside it.

the letters thing is good. we're going with quite a few people so i could quite easily arrange that i think. get some party poppers, confetti cannons etc etc.

starting to feel extremely nervous now that this is becoming a reality.

Only you know how good you are together and if she'll say yes! Don't be nervous tho, you want to remember this day for the rest of your life. Sure all will go fantastic whatever you decide to do.

Was it run by a Somerset dwelling girl called Ju ? Lovely pretty old caravan and wooden workbenches cut into curvy shapes?

Congratulations in advance.

I proposed to my wife in 2009, with a sky lantern at midnight in the stone circle with will you marry me written on it, All arranged with the help of some folks off here.

Sky lanterns have become rather frowned upon since then though.

There was a thread under my AKA name at the time, but think it may have been archived / deleted due to it being so long ago.

Regarding the ring, I picked up a little token ring in the market to propose with, didn't want to risk losing the real engagement ring at the festival.

I personally would do it just before a sub headline set during the change around, or just before sunset. Maxium attention on you and you'll get a big cheer. Have your people stand to the side of the mixing desk and you and your woman further up the hill. Just let us know where and when. I want to see this.
