Headliners 2016

Apologies to ram more radiohead videos down your throat, but in terms of the crowd standing still, see this from 4:30 onwards

then, more recently, and of the sing-along variety see (esp 2:20 onwards)

In any case, their sets are varied and the idea that the whole thing would be static and "chin stroky" is not necessarily true. If Radiohead were to headline this year or the next, considering it would probably be their last time at glasto, I'd no doubt they'd pull it out of the bag and deliver an unforgettable set.

I am happy to give them all a listen mate.

Who did that huge long post about how we've moaned about the Headliners year on year, whoever they are?

Can someone send me a quick link.

I'd like to show it to a first timer in our group who is currently moaning. They need perspective.

I highlight the quoted text, hit backspace, hit enter a couple of times, then backspace a couple of times, if it doesn't do the trick I repeat hitting enter and backspace til it does.  That does the job for me on various browsers/devices.

Thanks for that, but still not working here.

Neil has managed to replicate it on *one* of his test devices. It's a known issue with the forum software. Seems like most people can delete it OK, but I currently can't. I'll live, I can probably use an alternative browser until they fix it.

Are any of your working devices Marshmallow, with a relatively stock Android experience? I'm Moto X Play.

We should really continue this on the proper thread, I suppose.

And now on both, as my phone (Sony Z3) is back from the menders .... but is actually a brand new phone, tho running v5.1.1 at the moment (there's prolly a system update I need to do).

Ah, this thread never minds a bit of padding, no, using lollipop or kitkat with stock and chrome variously over the last few months, but mostly windows pc/tablet using chrome.  It's an annoying side effect of the upgrade which I'm sure we'd all like to see resolved.

I actually think it's an annoying side effect of a forums software upgrade rather than a phone software upgrade, as it appears to have started at about the time of the last forums software upgrade (about 3 weeks ago).

Isn't it an interaction between the two? That's the impression I got, considering so many people seem to be fine.

I was actually referring to the forum upgrade.  I've been experiencing it since the change of theme.  I hadn't noticed any improvement or deterioration in that timeframe, it's been like that the whole time for me.  As I say, I found a workaround which makes it a minor annoyance at most.

Does anyone (I'm sure you all do) have a rough idea when the full, or atleast a big chunk of the lineup is announced? Only been once before and I'm sure it was around this time of year, end of march maybe? I just can't take the waiting and teasing every year, festival announcements will be the death of me I need to plan clashes with missus hahaa

perhaps, tho I think what's stopped it working for you and me is the forums software upgrade and not a phone upgrade.

lots of peeps took a while to work out to how to do it, but as far as anyone told me it could always be done. Now it can't be done.

heard the wackiest of wacky rumours last night.....Adele will headline Saturday night with drum roll.........Spice Girls as special guests on before her.

not my cup of tea in.slightest but imagine that. Hahaha

The Other Stage headliner/sub will have a nice crowd then hahaa, Adele wouldn't really surprise me but would she really be able to pull off a fitting headliner show?

The full line up with times is usually June - quite close to the festival. Usually have a poster in April time.

http://theglastonburythingy.weebly.com/ might be a good bet.

I dont think she would thats what makes me think shes subbing, yes shes big enough `at the moment` to headline......but does her music lend itself to that kind of show? headline show you want something with energy that gets the crowd bouncing surly? and I just dont see that with adele...

Yeah that's exactly what I mean! You need someting to really get the crowd going to end everyone's night on a high, I don't think reeling of a load of love songs will do the headline slot much justice, unless she pulls all the stops and ramps up her tempo, has metallica style pyro, a huge laser show and a 30 piece orchestra on stage.. and that's not going to happen!

Coldplay sub on the sunday seems more likely? Or saturday depending who headlines of course.

She's a superb performer and artist. She's also blossomed into a really good looking woman. Poor girl is stuck with the accent but mines not actually too great either.

Maybe that's what Neil heard and why it's not radiohead

Feel dirty even saying that

She should never have done that one with Bryan Adams

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
