I think the reason I rate What Went Down more than others on here is simply because it was the first release by Foals I'd actually anticipated, having only been a fan for the past year or so. The first radio play of What Went Down blew me away. Still my favourite Foals song. Similarly with Antidotes, I have none of the nostalgia that many have for that album. Total Life Forever I very much like, but apart from Spanish Sahara and Blue Blood, I don't find myself returning to it that much. Holy Fire is my favourite cause Providence & Inhaler.

i said the same thing a while ago but JAN thinks it's nonsense (he is allowed too btw) i think there is an unfair nostalgia attached to most successful bands first album.

anything is acceptable as long as we agree that foals are a talented band and it's personal taste. What went down was extremely interesting if you get rid of albatross. What went down is their heaviest song and even people who don't like the album enjoy that track. snake oil is odd and enjoyable at the same time. Has some very zeppelin like riffs. night swimmers is a pop song with a fairly heavy riff, which is hard to pull off but they did, i like the vast majority of the songs on the album.

haha we definitely prefer different aspects of foals. out of interest, do you prefer hummer or cassius?

I'll agree with you that Foals are great but I just found What Went Down kind of lacking. Just felt like Holy Fire 2, still a good album and it has it moments. Also I prefer Hummer to Cassius, infact Cassius is one of my least favourite Foals songs

The Libertines are fucking crap and Pete Doherty is a hack C**T who needs to fuck off out of music completely, tallentless hack. Bizkit are ace live, the true barometer of a good band, Libertines are god awful and it showed by them getting by far the smallest crowd a headliner has gotten in seemingly forever. They're utter shit. I bet you think Linkin Park and acts like them are also crap.

What? Everything about this is wrong. The Libertines are a fantastic band and shit all over Limp Bizkit and Linking Park (who are also crap) and when I saw Libs at Hyde Park two year ago they were incredible, far better than Limp last year.

Kind of similar to me. Got into Foals with Holy Fire so What Went Down was the first one I was anticipating but even I was blown away by it. I have no nostalgia for any of their previous work but I still prefer the first two albums. Antidotes because I like Math Rock and TLF because it is just a very good album

Honestly I'm not sure how you'd even get to -1,000

That's pretty specialist

Bet he votes Tory too

What's wrong with voting tory? Better than voting Labour and bankrupting the country. At least the Tories have managed to achieve the strongest growth out of the major European + Japan economies.

and pay no attention to unions and crush the welfare system, except of course for pensions because then they'd lose there main voting demographic.

can we not make this a politics thread?

Since when is the welfare system a good thing? I'd be humiliated if I had to take money of off the government to be economically survivable. We need to be spending much more time in teaching people (good) money management, and financial literacy, it's a joke that people don't understand how to manage their own money to live comfortable lives and not paycheck to paycheck. I currently have 3 months of paychecks saved up and only worked for 10 months. It's really not that hard.

Which bands would everyone like to see added to the lineup; I think it's good but I feel a couple more bands across the weekend could make it great.

I'd personally 2-3 of: Don Broco, Deaf Havana, Sum 41, Arcane Roots, Django Django, Peace, The Hives

Out of those I could definitely see Sum, Don or Arcane Roots slotting in, not sure about the others...

And what? Destroy the NHS and other public services

And where do you work may I ask? Is it some minimum paid job and you live by yourself? Doubt it
Also you don't seem to understand the point of welfare in the first place.

Is there any reason Sum 41 wouldn't have been announced? That Kerrang tour finished well before the announcement didn't it? They're around at the time and I don't really get why they wouldn't have been announced. Maybe they're playing Hevy or something instead.

Don Broco will probably be announced after Download along with a load more of their acts.

Again, since when was the NHS and other 'public' services a good thing. We seriously need to get out of this idea that the NHS is fantastic and a good thing, it's really not, there are far better ways to do health care. It's 8.50 an hour, and yes I do live by myself, it's called living below you means and taking advantages of other income streams other than your main one, usually a job. I understand the point of welfare yes, it's for leaches to suck on the government teet with no ambition. Private charity is a far better way to look after the needy. It's like pensions, at one point in time we didn't have pensions, but old people still survived and retired and got on fine, I wonder how they did it?
