Nah it's not been mentioned. Cheers. Will have to rejig my headline prediction which I wasn't planning on doing for a while yet. :P

So my suggestion that I'm not sure I could see Slipknot headlining next year and it wasn't approved of, not necessarily by yourself wasn't a bad one?

As I said, Download 13 and 15 (should of been next year, it was too early). An arena your at the start of the year before that date as well. Another double billing major festival booking wasn't that likely.

I doubt anyone disapproved of you not being sure Slipknot would headline.

They did mate lol, I said it a while ago and it was shot down and recently when talked about down voted. Don't get me wrong, my comment early this morning now wasn't meant to come across as anything major which maybe it did.

I should have replied generally and not on dentala comment so apologies for that.

Yeah fair enough. It's just they toured the last album for two years and then another three more years after regrouping so I didn't think it was all that easy to say they'd tour for a year then stop but seems that's what they'll do.

I get that, kind of why I thought it made sense just to the arena tour and when they announced that I think I was like surely they won't be booked again for Download as well. Not booking them would've had that whole, arena buzz for ages and having to wait until the following June to see them but instead people who shelled out £45+ in January also then shelled out 4/5 months later. Adds a bit to why I didn't think he'd done well overall on the lineup, that Friday was Main/2nd top were pure lazy bookings.

Just book Kanye. Throw him the biggest fee ever offered to a headliner. Whatever. Just get it done.

Sure just get in the habit of booking Glastonbury headliners the year after.

He was good last night because he knew he had to be, he phoned in 2 performances at Wireless last year and probably would at R&L because it won't be as big an occasion.

If you like Kanye you would have enjoyed his set, if not then you wouldn't. He was definitely on form last night but if you don't like him you will never enjoy his live performances. I enjoy his stuff, particularly the early albums, like many others so it would be a great booking in my eyes.

I really like his first album, but a guy talking over an mp3 doesnt do it for me. He didnt even seem competent, he missed his cue at least 4 times and had to get the guy to press play again.

I agree it'd be better if they did it like disclosure, like have some people actually play the beats and loops

    • I mean she's never going to admit it, but of course she would do a deal...same as Labour would with lib-dems/greens if meant getting into government.
    • They probably do make more from the festival. But take a look at an aerial photo from any year - there's always a few fields that would be viable for festival related use yet are left empty. I guess they just don't want to deal with the associated hassle.
