As I said in the Werchter thread: Mumford & Sons are confirmed for Squamish Valley in Canada, August 7-9, which makes them at least a little less likely for Pukkelpop and a little more likely for Werchter.

They are at reading/Leeds just a week later though.

I'm looking for a festival that has faithless, so all being well. I don't fancy a dance festival so pukkelpop could be perfect.

I think Faithless will milk it this summer so they''ll be at as many festivals as they can.

Am I right in thinking you've been to PKP before? If so, you'll know what a great mix of music it has every year and that's one of the main reasons why I've been so many times. I come from a predominantly dance background so 2/3 dedicated stages (Boiler, Dance Hall and late night Castello) plus a few bands/DJs on the Main and Marquee means it more than meets my requirements.

I'm really not sure. TW Classic has a 60k capacity and is revolving completely around Robbie Williams and Faithless. There's demand for Faithless, but that much demand?

Robbie Williams is big enough to do TW Classic on his own so Faithless are a bonus really. How many (paying) visitors do you think will go to both festivals? One thousand? Two thousand? I can't imagine there'll be many more than that. You're better placed than me to call this but I don't get the impression many people go to PKP for one band but that's more the case for TW Classic. Like I said, the demographic of the two festivals is different, Faithless have history with PKP as they've headlined in the past and they're definitely around that weekend. Hopefully those factors mean they'll play as I've seen them a few times over the years and they're great live.

Put it this way, if we don't get at least one of The Prodigy, Faithless, The Chemical Brothers or Underworld I'll be kicking off big time!

From what I've heard, ticket sales for TW Classic were going terrible (which doesn't surprise me, Williams only managed to sell 15k tickets for his Brussels stadium show in 2013). If that's true we can assume that Faithless is needed to boost sales, which would make them less likely. And from what I've seen on social media it's mostly people in their 30s-40s being enthusiastic about the Faithless reunion, which would tie in better with the TW Classic setup than the current average Pukkelpop visitor (whom I imagine to be more interested in Skrillex or Netsky...).

Either way we'll probably have to wait a couple of months to be sure about Faithless. If they're meant to boost ticket sales for TW Classic, they won't be in the first PKP announcement in 2-3 weeks. So unless there's 3 certified main stage closers in that first batch of names it remains possible.

I personally prefer Underworld out of those 4, so it's still looking good ;)

Seconded, I'd much prefer Underworld.

I don't think that Pukkelpop has any excuse for a poor main stage line up this year now we know what bands that are knocking about, the 30th Anniversary and the bigger budget due to the compensation ending.

I'm 100% with you both on Underworld, my PKP experience won't be complete until I've seen them there. They're touring the entire Dubnobass album at Primavera and a couple of other places but I'd rather it was just a 'normal' live show if they do play. Got the feeling though if they don't book them this year then it's never going to happen....

Some good points about TW Classic but as you said it will just be a case of waiting it out.

Just got tickets for Faithless in Eindhoven, the day after TW Classic, so I'm fixed if they don't come to PKP...

Be nice to see at least one of Underworld and the Chemical Brothers show up though.

Less excited about The Prodigy. Sure, they're always good to watch, but they're also at PKP pretty much every other year. Getting a bit bored with them now.

I also want to see Alestorm announced (they're already at Lowlands). Heavy metal pirates would be perfect for my annual visit to The Shelter.

Latest RW line adds

Years & Years, Hot Chip, Elbow on Thursday

BADBADNOTGOOD, Kwabs on Friday

ILoveMakonnen, Counting Crows, Die Antwoord on Sunday

Bad news 're: Elbow. I still think Hot Chip are coming though. Not arsed with the rest.

Agree, Elbow would have been great, Hot Chip too. I would like to see Counting Crows but have got to 40 without seeing them so can probably cope.

PKP need to hit some big names, and soon

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
