Any joy @Fishman?

I didn't even get past the first page, sorry bud.

Nope.

Got to the choose a coach page but each time I clicked a choice it then said unable to process as nothing available.

Quite frustrating.

Thanks for trying and good luck on Sunday.

Appreciate it has its own thread, but Shangri La line up is here!

What are everyone's thoughts?

Always takes me a while to digest but there are some very good names on there at first glance.

My first thoughts are that on the whole, it's arguably slightly weaker than usual. Happy with Randall, Denham Audio, Slipmatt, Ellis Dee, f**k Off, Kurupt FM, Samurai Breaks. And looking forward to getting stuck into discovering a load of new stuff. All recommendations gratefully received, as always.

The Defected takeover might be interesting. Would expect the likes of Gorgon City, Sam Divine, Menendez Brothers and EZ (all on the poster) to be part of that.

I agree - theres nothing too interesting bigger name wise and its mostly just repeats. Its solid though - but tbh never really go to shangri la its a human cattle pen at the best of times

Love the old skool

Yep. That's my roots. So I love the ravey breaks that Denham Audio and Samurai Breaks play.

Would really love to see a few from the Hardcore Energy label get a slot. Pete Cannon, Origin8a, Propa. Nice modern refresh on the old skool, breakbeat, jungle tekno sound. Somewhere like Babylon Uprising would be sweet

Random question but as an avid Anjunabeats / Above & Beyond follower, do they or members of the anjuna family get slots anywhere?

Been on a one-man campaign for an Anjunadeep takeover. Jody Wisternoff did a b2b with Nick Warren a few years back. Franky Wah played in 2022. That's about it, sadly. It'll be 10 years this year since Above & Beyond destroyed Sonic. What a way to close out the festival that was.

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
