Rock Werchter 2015

The Wombats were up there. Bumped in to a bunch of lads from Liverpool just before they came on stage and had an awesome time there.

Bombay Bicycle Club/Passenger were very good at easing hangovers.

The 1975 are one of my favourite bands so that went down a treat, plus an extended set because Puggy dropped out I believe?

Metallica followed by Skrillex was one of the best nights I've ever had at RW.

Wondering if we'll get someone hot off the 'EDM' scene for a headline tent slot on the Friday to give a genre split that evening.

Skrillex, Knife Party, Netsky, Boys Noize have all done decent high slots before...

Wouldn't mind Knife Party again with the new album out now!

Their new album would be something insane for a party act ! I hope so too

11 days ago we heard WERCHTER BOUTIQUE will not take place in 2015. 2 headlining artists who were planned to go on tour together (European stadiums + Werchter Boutique) cancelled their tour. The record release which was also planned is postponed. Today Live Nation Festivals Belgium confirmed there will be no Werchter Boutique this year. That's all we can tell you folks!

Looks like Kanye West + Rihanna was planned for Werchter Boutique.

i know that some of the difficulties european festivals have been having with booking american bands this year has been due to the strengthening of the american festival scene, but could this also be because of the euro plummeting against the dollar.

Blur is not on the line-up. We can still hope that they'll play at #RW15 but it would be very surprising.

The following bands WON'T play at Rock Werchter :

A-Trak, Adam Beyer, Above & Beyond, All Time Low, Allah-Las, Architect, Atreyu, Bad Breeding, Bear's Den, Bastille, Beatsteaks, Black Box Revelation, Black Sun Empire, Boys Noize, Brodinski, Cardiknox, Charles Bradley, Charli XCX, Chunk! No Captain Chunk!, Courtney Barrett, Craze, Critical Soundsystem, Curtis Harding, Cymbals feat Guitars, Daniel Avery, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Diplo, The Districts, DJ Mustard, Django Django, Dolomite Minor, Dropkick Murphys, Duke Dumont, Echosmith, Ellie Goulding, Elliphant, Fakear, Father John Misty, FFS, Flako, Four Tet, Future Islands, George Ezra, The Get Up Kids, Ghost Culture, Gorgon City, Halestorm, Hannah Wants, Howling, Hudson Mohawke, Interpol, James Blake, Jamie XX, John Talabot, Jurassic 5, Karenn Live, Kate Tempest, Kele Knife Party, Kodaline, Len Faki, Lido, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Little Dragon, Little Smiz, the Maccabees, Machine Drum, the Magician, Major Lazer, Manchester Orchestra, Mark Ronson, Mastodon, the Menzingers, Mew, Michael Kiwanuka, Milk Teeth, Mini Mansions, Mister Oizo, Netsky, Odesza, The Offspring, Ought, Parov Stelar, Passenger, Pissed Jeans, Pond, Porter Robinson, ¨Phryme, Radkey, Rebel Sound, Roots Manuva, Rudimental, Run the Jewels, Seasick Steve, Shadow Child, Sigma Live, Slaves, Son Lux, The Sore Losers, Strand of Oaks, Spor, The Subways, Tale of Us, Tame Impala, Ten Walls, The Story so Far, Thomston, Todd Terje, Trixie Whitley, Truckfighters, Ty Dolla Sign, Underworld, The Upbeats, Viet Cong and What So Not.

So if there is another dance act at Werchter, it could be Avicii or Calvin Harris. Disappointed that Seasick Steve, Limp Bizkit, Future Islands, Knife Party, George Ezra, Mark Ronson and Mastodon are ruled out.

I still prefer the Rock Werchter line-up (even the Friday that a large number seem to hate) however I would have loved the addition of James Blake, Manchester Orchestra and Tame Impala. A few of those dance acts would have been nice additions also.

Every time I feel bad about this or that act that RW could book but didn't, I look at other mainstream festivals and immediately feel better. Thanx *Pukkelpop! Wonder if I'll still feel good after Roskikde reveal the full lineup tomorrow.

*I know their lineup is far from being completed, but even if Blur will come and the third headliner will be HUGE , it wont be good as RW.

Yeah that makes it alot more tollarable as theres only a handful of acts that I'd see at PKP so maybe not loads of bands touring of my tastes this year!

Two acts not on the PKP lineup that I'm hoping Rock Werchter will announce in the last batch are Jamie.T and Frank Turner. Maybe get lucky with The Libertines as they weren't announced for PKP and them being absence from Belgium this summer, although they may just miss it altogether.

Gutted about some of these too.

Thoughts on a Pendulum DJ Set in Klub C?

So there is still a slight chance for Incubus and Taking back Sunday.....
