That time of the year again...

I realise not that many on the forum are actually going but I hope there is enough to get the thread going.

What drinks are people taking with them and have they seen any decent deals around??

Also does anyone know how much a pint cost in the arena last year??

I'm not gonna take much to be honest. I hate warm beer.

The on site supermarkets aren't too pricey so I will buy from there and I will also keep myself topped up with at the real ale bar.

Jeez, only fest I'm going by is download in 09. On site supermarkets were selling packs of 4 for a fiver. May have to take a box of wine along with some beer then.

you could take a cool box? Or stick it under your groundsheet which apparently works at cooling it down

What's the deal with getting searched? Does everyone get searched and will you get away with just putting the booze at the bottom?

they search like 1% of people... If they search you they will take if of you but chances are they won't

its not a problem if they search you anyway as you can still easily get booze

Beers left under the tent will get cold over night but warm during the day. So I was waking up to nice cold beers but warm ones when I get back from the arena.

I'm taking a bit of money, I just need to make sure I don't get too excited. I took shit loads of booze with me last time and bought more whilst there. Cool box is too big and heavy.

I got proper searched at T and they didn't take my alcohol off me, or ID me when they found it. They were more bothered with drugs.

Although they did take my fucking Nutella pot and plastic forks because apparently they are "dangerous".

anyone seen a decent deal on spirits

bun spirits, there's always some cheap Port knocking about, make some cheeky vimtos. Also I don't recommend any of the Jager or Malibu rip offs, they might be cheap as piss, but that's probably cause they taste like piss as well

Theres always the two litre of cider from Sainsburies which costs £1.99, tastes nice as well. Aldi is great for cheap alcohol with vodka to Taurus being ridiculously cheap. I'd avoid things like the jager tent as it's ridiculously overpriced too.
