Yeah SOAD need new material before they return so if they take their time then fair play.

What Poland show is it for Metallica? Anything to do with DEAG or Soni?

To be honest, Queen and Adam Lambert doing DEAG events wouldn't be that strange considering Kiss and FNM did them last year - unless they've been singled out as the cursed ones. :P It could certainly ride with Metallica and RHCP as the other headliners; might act as a good step between the headliners. Would still be a shame that they couldn't find a headliner within 20 years of their prime but it'd go ahead nonetheless.

yup! think Queen might do DEAG stuff, maybe a rebranded knebworth event alongside RHCP would be doable and take the sting out. think its 30 year anniversary of Queen at Knebworth next year as well? No idea on Metallica, a polish fan site posted about it from info heard from press/radio.

I loved the 2012 lineup tbf, so with some bigger acts than that year and not announced in basically March would have been workable imo. Think if its happening we will hear soon though - think black crows right on that one at least!

Time you had a chat with your source....there's a whiff of BS in the air!  No big 4 and no sign of an announcement on the horizon.  Hell, they may not even have convinced Metallica round to playing this time!

Sorry I missed the part where I said the Big 4 were playing. Oh yeah I didn't. It's not my fault your mind ran away with itself.

An announcement is on the Horizon, wait and see.

Oh dear, have you really stooped to the level now of making suggestive comments so that you can claim credit if it's right or play the "I didn't technically say they were playing" card if wrong.

You're pretty much worse than Gazza at this point.

Saw that haha, I'd love it tbh but it won't happen.

Metallica are supposedly rumoured for a Poland show in June so wouldn't rule em oot. SOAD however are supposedly giving 2016 a miss now and have decided to wait till 2017 - new material perhaps?

Iron Maiden will play in july in Wroclaw, Poland. Live Nation said that it will not be the biggest band to play in that city next year. People started rumours saying that it would be Metallica, cause they are bigger than Maiden. Basically, whoever is bigger, better than Iron according to LN, will soon be announced

If it's on then I can't see past Metallica, RHCP and BMTH. Is anyone else around?

No not really. KISS announced some German shows for late May but that's six weeks prior. Metallica aren't even confirmed to be around; they were just alluded to by Black_Crow in a couple of vague comments - one of which he disowned as a rumour. :P Either way we don't have anything like the full picture of who's touring, nor whether Sonisphere will be changing tack with who they book, if it's on.

Thing is, that in a few weeks DL will probably have another announcement out, filling out their undercard.  If Soni haven't got the shit together and announced something soon, then they will really struggle to sell tickets.

Has a feeling of 2013 about it, where there's a hope of something materialising, but weeks go by and nothing ever does. Don't think we've had any conclusive proof that it's even on, let alone who will play.

Biffy & Muse should be around. There are still festivals that haven't announced all headliners. Rockavaria only got Iron Maiden. Rock am Ring, Rock In Vienna, Nova Rock, Hellfest and Download Paris need another headliner as well.

Been mentioned here few times that PJ will be probably back next year. Nobody really knows what's going on with G'N'R :-)

Oh yeah I forgot about Biffy; I was considering that not long ago actually. And yeah Pearl Jam maybe as well.

This is the part where all those festivals announce the likes of Queen + Adam Lambert, Die Toten Hosen, Scorpions and other stuff that's irrelevant to Soni's headliner situation. :P

I know it's similarly early but the undercard prospects look considerably bleaker than the headliners, to be honest. Download's line up is getting shit on and they picked some of the biggest bands that are around at the time, and Kili themselves just signed off Ritchie Blackmore and Alice Cooper to different events and shows when they could have been major names at Sonisphere.

Rockavaria's remaining headliners have been rumoured to be Linkin Park and GnR for a few weeks now.

Other potential headliners who are in Europe - Biffy Clyro, RHCP, Kiss.

Perhaps Glasto could be convinced to share Muse with Sonisphere, like with Metallica.

Then there's Pearl Jam who are rumoured to be playing festivals.

....and BMTH who could be given a push to headline.

As far as other big bands are concerned who could fill the lineup, who have already been announced for festivals - Bullet For My Valentine, Slayer, Volbeat, Within Temptation.

Alice Cooper could have headlined the 2nd stage at Sonisphere, due to him being in Europe there's nothing stopping him doing a Hollywood Vampires set. Perhaps Blackmore didn't want to play any festivals.

Aye with Cooper it could be scheduling or it could be it wouldn't work at soni now. A satutn headline slot at 7pm for 75 mins max in the daylight with all his get up would be hard to pull off and wasted. Worked in 2010 as he effectively headlined that night.

With Blackmore I think it's clear he didnt want to do festivals. Hence no Download and not being at Stone Free which he could have headlined for Kili but opted for a standalone date.

Im not optimistic that it will happen, but at this stage untill those other fests start confirming bands who can't do it we won't really know. Theres still emore than enough potential bands but whether they end up playing is anyone's guess.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
