lucyginger
no more festivals for me, but I do have a couple of festival style weddings to go to, which I'm looking forward to! Anything that involves sunshine and cider is good by me!!

gerardfenton18
Im also wondering, will it feel like a step down going back to a smaller festival after being at a far far better one ?
Bisque
Reading/Leeds & Bestival. Neither compare to Eavis's big dog.
Bisque
Im also wondering, will it feel like a step down going back to a smaller festival after being at a far far better one ? No. I enjoying Reading & Bestival in completely different ways. Just don't compare them & have a great time at each. Although Glastonbury is the bestest greatest thing in the world & I want to go back again & again.
gerardfenton18
Reading/Leeds & Bestival. Neither compare to Eavis's big dog. does it feel like an anti climax or is it still as good as the last time....(assuming you've done it before) edit: you've already answered that for me.....and that's what i wanna hear!! mrpman
Summer goes like this, no festivals but lots happening... 1st - 3rd August - Liverpool for stag weekend Sometime between now and 2nd week in September (I'm guessing) - first baby being born 27th September - Get married So yeah, should probably try and fit another festival in there somewhere as I'm not busy. Bisque
They are just different ways of going about a fest! Reading & Bestival you be caned 24/7. A lot less to do at Reading than Bestival, yet ticket price is about the same prob due to fewer big bands playing. You kind of have to make your own fun at Reading, meet people (most 16-21, whereas Besti is 18-29) but as any fest just throw yourself in & forget (or try to) how much it costs! Besti is 150% better than Reading though unless you really are keen on headliners.
willsnewman
Will probably do Pitchfork Paris festival, and I'm veeery tempted by Festival No. 6. Although I don think funds or time will allow that.

JC-Mo'Fucka
Pretty much after any festival I have a good time at, I end up saying 'this is the best festival'. Then I go back to Glasto 'This is the best festival'. I'll (hopefully) return to Bestival this year to proclaim it the best festival. Repeat process every year. I got loads I wanna go to but can't commit till I get me some work. Much frustrating.
mandolin
Music in the Gardens on Sunday, Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza in August (hello, Dimus!), New Orleans in September. Can't wait, having not got tickets for Glastonbury this year I have felt bereft of outside music. I want grass, cider and a band playing. Yoghurt on a Stick
We are going to Shambala on the August Bank Holiday weekend, and also going to Something Else in the Dean in late September. We've been to Shambala before so know what to expect (fun), but don't know what the second festival will be like as we've never been before - it also has a maximum capacity of 500 so is so tiddly compared to what we are used to. We are doing both in a camper van so that should make it more comfortable.

Gayle who puts on them fests has a tent at Bearded Theory, it's ace, she is fucking lovely, have heard such great things about these fests, reckon we're in for treats!! Already done BT. So just that one for me, plus me pals are having a mini fest in their garden, as we never got beautiful days tickets... Gazsimmo1980
Tramlines next weekend. Not a proper 'in a field' kind of festival as it's spread across Sheffield city centre, but really looking forward to it. Public Enemy, The Cribs, Simian Mobile Disco and Deap Valley, and it's close enough to home so we can get a reasonably priced cab. And there's no mud to worry about. Superstu
I'll be at my local festival Kendal Calling in a couple of weeks, and i cannot wait. I have seen that it has taken quite a lot of stick on this forum following that stupid BB3 documentary "Festivals, Sex And Suspicious Parents" making out that the festival was just full of embarrassing drunk teenage kids listening to pop music. Thankfully I'm glad to say that my experiences in the past few years have always been brilliant and ive never had a bad word to say about it. On my list of best uk festivals it is just below Glastonbury and joint with Bestival. Looking forward to De La Soul, Happy Mondays, Suede, Miles Kane, 2many Dj's and Craig Charles funk and soul show. I just hope the northern weather holds out for the weekend.

So just that one for me, plus me pals are having a mini fest in their garden, as we never got beautiful days tickets... Been a good old summer so far Hello Perks. I had heard that the lady (Gayle) who puts them on could make them bigger but doesn't want to so that the vibe remains the same. If that's true then it's a pretty special thing to do. I have a feeling that it'll be nice and cosy, and that no doubt we'll meet a few characters. I've not been to Bearded Theory - yet! It's one I'd really like to go to as I've heard that it's like Glastonbury used to be many years ago. On top of that there's the fact that my wife is rather against going to Glastonbury next year. It may well stand in as a substitute, although I had ear marked Body & Soul in Ireland as my Glastonbury substitute should I not get tickets on T Day. The problem is the cost of the ferry over and the eye watering expense of things (such as pints) in Ireland. Maybe Bearded Theory is more realistic. Have fun at Something Else Up North and your friends mini fest.
