Hey! I was a City fan since the day I was born! Suffered 35 years of perpetual disappointment before the money came in and we got some success! My grandparents ran a shop just round the corner from Maine road stadium, so City were very much my family's team, even through all the years of United's dominance. I also supported my local team where I grew up (Sutton United), so had a double helping of continual underachievement (apart from that FA cup win against Coventry!).

i noticed jeffie put on facebook an article from the sky sports website - the Murdoch-owned sky sports - extolling the virtues of a russian oligarch.

methinks his mask is slipping...

Until you got 'lucky' with your rather rich overseas owners you were like most other football clubs, and were very lucky to survive not dropping out the league all together a few years back.

I have a question to all rich person owned clubs who live of loans from their owners.

What happens when you owner wants their money back?

That is asked as a Pompey fan - whose owner loan money they said they did not want back but then they did want it back. We survived, just.

When that happens, you're pretty much screwed! Anyway, I reckon that's enough football talk, gets a bit boring for anyone who's not interested! :)

    • Remain self-imposed on not going north of a hundred, but... we're getting to the point now where the starting gun will be above that for some acts.
    • I'm finding the lower line up a little impenetrable this year   Any thoughts on heavier bands a la Slift a few years ago?
    • Will be curious to see how most of those shows sell. Surprised they're playing Leeds and Manchester - much as I am with Megadeth. (Not complaining, mind you.)
