I've fancied going to Download for a while, and nearly ended up volunteering this year (despite the crap - for me - lineup), but things have never fallen into place for me.

Slipknot and Muse (and Shikari to watch opposite Kiss) will get me there next year I think :). Nice work Copping, fair play.

I had the pleasure of seeing FFDP support A7X last year and I must admit, I was totally blown away. During one of the songs they literally had everyone shining their phone lights or lighters - the entirety of Wembley Arena all lit up with no stage lights for a support act is unheard of for me. They too were bloody excellent sounding.

I went in with low expectations, came out of it as a fan of the band for sure. I'd definitely recommend catching them al DL next year guys if there's no a band on anywhere else you're not dying to see. :)

Has anyone heard anything on Black Stone Cherry playing DL next year ? They appeared on quite a few peoples rumours / suggestions for the main stage, but nothing since.

If they did play, and didn't headline the 2nd as they did a couple of years back, then I would expect them to be fairly high up the bill on the main stage.

Everyone seems to have taken that these bands are actually playing. I only know of 3 that are almost certain to play, the subbing slots and other stages are purely speculation. Aren't they?

I also do think that Motley Crue will sub KISS, should they be announced. ;-)

Lucky, have you posted what you know yet? If not, drop me a pm. After being right about soni/leeds last year you're clearly talking to the right people!

It was posted yesterday, but it is was a post by lightning1000 but Lucky confirmed it

Is there any possibility that it could be a Kiss/Def Leppard co-headliner?. The Leps are doing fests in Europe around that time.

I'd roughly say -78%

Interesting one here, some people are moaning about the repeat booking of slipknot 2 years later, not as much as expected but it's there.

Do we think Andy could have booked them as headliner to protect their headline status, let's face it there isn't many modern metal headliners, he wasn't very happy when System chose to play Reading as sub the other year, do we think Slipknot may have been offered the same deal had they not got the download gig, thus weakening their status.

I also wonder would Andy reinstate System to headliner have they release a new album and download was the first UK show to hear it.

Just something I was thinking about on train whilst listening to slipknot and system

Nah Slipknot are much bigger than system, just how I see it.

No way System could sell out the tour Slipknot are doing and play download same year.

Slipknot were booked again as a safe booking solid booking, no other way about it really.

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
