Making a flag...

On a related note, I'm planning on getting a blank flag and flagpole from the efests shop (campsite use only don't worry!) and wondered if anyone else has used one of these to make their own flag? I'm wondering whether to use fabric paint and waterproof it or I should stay safe and use Image Maker? Any advice out there?

Won't work - almost the worst thing. Very high build, very heavy on the fabric - won't fly in light wind

You want as light as possible. Permanent fabric dye is king, available in liquid and pen form, but a bit awkward really

The fabric paints work just fine, but give it a wash before use to get rid of any excess weight and possible runs/mess before it goes up.

Spray paint with a stencil might be the way forwards then... I've just had a great idea for the design too, just waiting for the 6m flagpoles to come back in stock now!

I've only ever taken a flag to one festival before (Leeds) and someone stole it on the first night! It wasn't even a good flag, just a poor effort with glow in the dark paint on an old pillowcase! That really pissed me off but I have much more faith in the Glasto crowd :)
