With the lin up being out and looking deeper i ask the question why it seems so many acts are in the wrong place. Not it seems just my opinion but some acts seem to be badly judged in popularity against the time and stage they are on.

It's personal opinion i know but i'll list four.

Blondie : surely too early and should be on Pyramid

The war on Drugs : Should be on in the Park or JP

St Vincent : though i like that she's on in the Park as i really like the stage, i fear it will be rammed and popularity misjudged? or have i misjudged it?

Selector: Loving that they are on in the Avalon as i've not seen a headliner there but really it's a small tent and again i fear it will be stupidly rammed and also have sound bleed for those outisde of the tent from the Avalon cafe etc.

nah, I'm surprised Blondie are not on the Pyramid early doors, but the Other won't be that rammed for them, it's a big old field, it's early in the day, it'll be alright. I mean, they'll be shit cos they're 30 years past their prime, but that's the right sort of slot for them. Didn't the stranglers play a similar sort of time the other year? same for the Selector, they're not that big a draw, the Avalon will cope.

I thing Blondie on The Other at that time is a genius booking. The Hives played at the same time last year and really got everyone going, boosted the energy for the day I thought, I can see Blondie doing the same. They won't be as good as The Hives but will be a big 'ol sing-a-long.

Selecter in Avalon will be great. Skankin'

2 Bears are going to start playing live soon, so when I saw them on the Park I assumed it would be live. That they're DJing does seem a little odd, maybe they were booked to play live but haven't got the set sorted in time? As it stands though, a 2 Bears DJ set is a bit more involved and live than your average DJ set. They do sing live, for example.

Blondie should be in that slot but on the Pyramid. A stage doesn't have to be in exact popularity order, it's nice to see it curated a bit cleverer. Blondie opening the festival will be amazing.

    • 1 - Mock Media - Rat Bastard 2 - Maquina - Body Transmission 3 - Mary in the Junkyard - Role Model Hermit   Honourable mentions to The Hu - Hun, Madonna - Confessions II, and Swapmeet - Mount Zero for also being solid.   Sadly, really didn't connect with the new Yard Act, a real shame as loved their last two albums and thought this one would be a shoe-in for AOTM, but felt it was a bit too generic..

    • See him doing either wilderness or the forest live shows more
    • I always fancied going to this one - it had my sort of lineup. Shame.
