As someone going to my first Glastonbury I'd appreciate if you could tell me where the sauna is, its less a need to keep clean thing, and more a, I love a sauna thing, and having one at Glastonbury sounds like my kinda fun.

Yeah, what's the crack with Lost Horizon?

How much? Is the pass for all week? Do they have hot showers or just cold?

I've used Magic Hat (just as good for conversation as getting cleansed) and Green Peace, but I'd much rather an in & out hot shower.

I'm sure the sentiment is nice enough but I find it a bit weird that men are personally offended by what women choose to do with their hair. People can dress/dye/wear whatever make-up they like as far as I'm concerned. Live and let live, eh?

I'm not sure anyone is offended At all

Just saddened. If you want to do it just do it, decent people will not judge you for it anyway and will respect you more for it

The others can go jump, not a loss to you at all - noone needs people who make them feel bad about who they are[/quote

There's a huge discussion to be had around the effect of businesses making people (especially women) feel inadequate about their appearance in order to boost their profits and the social effect of this but can anyone really say they have absolute no intersect in the way they present themselves, I'm not sure their are many that do and I don't think people should be made to feel bad about their choices which ever end of the spectrum they sit on.

Lost Horizon.......

A week pass is available. (Crew get it half price at about £10 or 12 I think??) Single visits are also priced but I don't know the details.

The 4 showers are open air, cold, mixed gender and slightly hidden behind a hessian screen.

The sauna is supurb. Its in a yurt thats about 12 / 14" diameter. Can seat about 20 with additional room to stand or lie in the middle. Its fueled by logs and is dark, hot and friendly with plenty of drinking water.

Outside there is an open fire to chill round, a tipi to lounge in and a changing yurt should you wish. Theres a chai and cake tent and small but great program of live music / tunes.

The whole place is clothing optional which means you get a mixture of naked sunbathers and others doing the prudish dash between shower and sauna.

The best thing is to arrive, chill for a bit to fully arrive. Strip, get wet in the shower, sauna, shower, sauna, shower, sauna, shower chill by the fire, drink chai, dress and leave. Repeat every day.

My rating for Sams Magic Hat Sauna 6/10

My rating for the Lost Horizon Sauna 9/10

You pay at their reception / door. You can leave wallets etc with them safely. Also hire a towel, buy soap, have them charge your phone. All the extras cost money but they know how to look after you. The pass is another wrist band.

You really don't need soap, or a towel though, just sweat it all out and dry off by their fire.

Plan to loose at least an hour.

Oh, also, they have no loo. :(

Thank you Ian.

Does anyone have a price list? Or just a general guideline of what it would cost to use a shower once for example. I was given powder room access as a gift from someone so I have access to showers but my guy is interested in having at least one shower I think.

Well, yeah, I do look like shit throughout the festival but I do also think, as a previous poster said, that everyone modifies their appearance to some extent so it's a bit much to judge other people on that. That's all. Humans have modified their appearance since the dawn of time.

I'm aware rationally that I dye, straighten and wear make-up because of pressures that exist on women to look a certain way and I shouldn't give into them. But just knowing that doesn't necessarily give you the confidence to not give into them. It's all very well to say women should be happy not to wear make-up. I wish I could. But if putting on some eyeliner makes me feel more confident then, I'm sorry, but I'm going to do it.

Besides, I prefer having black hair just as some men prefer to have beards and some prefer to shave, some people have tattoos and piercings and so on. Horses for courses!

Rant over. I won't be showering and I'm buying a pink wig :)

I won't be showering. I did consider it last year but there's so much to do that it seemed a waste to spend time showering! I will get through the week with baby wipes and dry shampoo. My hair is quite long so I'll tie it up and it will look semi okay.

I will however, be wearing a bit of make up. I never used to bother at festivals, but since I hit my 40s I prefer to pop a bit of powder, blusher and mascara on before straying too far from home (or my tent).

I find the whole being a bit dirty and looking a bit shit aspect of it quite liberating.

I haven't ever showered at Glastonbury. I wash my hair with a bottle or bucket of water, have a good scrub with the baby wipes and I'm good to go. I do put on eye make up, which is something I do every day. I don't wear foundation etc, but some subtle eye make up really makes a difference for me, it makes me feel more confident and ready to take on the day. This year I'd like to have at least one shower, if not more, but I'll see how I feel on the day.

At the end of the day, people choosing to shower, worry about their hair, put lots of make up on etc isn't really having any effect on your festival (unless they're tap hoggers by the toilets!) so each to their own. It's nice to feel refreshed when you're tired, maybe hungover etc. And sometimes a short break from the mayhem can be welcome.

We use a 6 pint milk container and with a pre-prepared shower head made from the plastic screw cap. I simply heated a needle in a flame and then made several pin prick holes in the top. We take spare tops with and without holes. One of the tops has the pin holes shaped into letters. It sprays the word GLASTO ! Leave the filled milk container (with water) in a black bin liner and you can have a warm shower later in the day - especially since it is going to be so sunny.

Yeah, me too up to a point. It's the least I care about my appearance all year and I do find that liberating. But I do have my little concessions!

    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
    • E-mail summarizing Saturday - Primavera Sound 2026 Journal Day 3. As in previous days, it's going to be on the website soon, I think.
