Its a really good game so far. Find the 11.00 games funny, they often seem to put the games that they think nobody wants in that slot. However I get the impression that they are thinking about the US tv market putting this game in.

Probably, most of his autobiography has been shown to be a mixture of bollocks and misinformation. As usual it's a very vague claim that could be interpreted a number of way, designed to give maximum exposure to him with little chance of him being proved wrong. I mean he said 'two or three' players, well is it two or three? If he can't remember who it was or how many there were then what hope is there for the rest of the 'facts'.

Not wanting to risk getting injured for a big club game by taking part in a meaningless international friendly is probably quite a frequent situation, I'd imagine players profess a preference not to play or suggest it's more of a chore than a pleasure quite frequently. He's probably exaggerated the situation.

This is all mountain out of mole stuff imo.He could easily be talking about Ledley King who had those medical problems and then applied it to every English player under him, I'm also pretty sure Bentley have a history of not wanting to play for the U21.

So its one of them... Unless he was talking about U21 level...

so a bunch of players who were barely likely to get a kick because they're a bit shit don't want to be exposed as being a bit shit.

It's worth noting that (during 'Arry's time) the only "regular" amongst them was Crouch, and even 'Arry thought he was shit.

Arrys argument about English players not wanting to play, would no doubt be different if he was the manager. I personally think English are no more/less passionate about representing their nation then anyone else. I don't see England as underachieviers, I think the golden generation was about par, however the reason they didn't do better, was all about skill and nothing to do with character.

    • made a last minute decision to go to Belladrum festival.   it was absolutely wonderful.   never been before, to be honest I think I was expecting a stage in a field and a burger van, but its nothing at all like that.   the site is beautiful, its small enough to get around, but big enough that there are things to discover round each corner, there are a good number of small stages tucked away.   you could quite easily convince yourself you were in Glastonbury in places.   I may have only been one time, but already learned a valuable lesson - the site itself may be Glastonbury like, but the "general camping" campsite is very much Reading like! as the morning mist rises... its a view like the Do Lung Bridge scene in Apocalypse Now...   so if you are not 15 years old, go to family or quiet camping which is fantastic.   its a real family friendly festival to - loads of families and kids of all ages running round and stuff for them to do.   I would 100% recommend it, and I really can't see any reason why I wont be going back next year!   🙂
