I am quite excited, but it doesn't really seemed to have gripped the country like it usuually does (Not just the England stuff). Even Pubs and that seem a bit meh on it around the city....or maybe I am comparing it to the excitement we had in 2012 in London, so it feels a bit meh :P

I dunno it just seems odd this year.

Stats like that though are always pointless really. The level of challenge they face during their World Cup qualification campaigns are much reduced compared to the teams in Europe. They only teams they would of played competitive football against on home soil outside of the qualification process would of been at the 1950 World Cup.

Not saying it isn't an impressive fact but just saying it doesn't say much about the World Cup about to come.

Not working now until after the quarter finals so really looking forward to this. Only thing spoiling it is the lack of pubs around here for the midweek 11pm kickoffs . I'm still wondering about the possibility of booking a cheap last minute deal to watch some matches in a more favourable timezone but I've probably left it too late now.

    • Just watched Annie Lennox at Wilderness Festival as part of her global feminist The Circle initiative. She curated the 2 hour slot with special guests including Jessie Ware and then did  a 1/2 hour slot singing her and Eurythmics hits at the end. Her voice is amazing still and I am convinced she would do an amazing set on Sunday afternoon. She even wore a jacket with a sparkling CND symbol on the back! It’s a sign!!

    • Is it one of those bollocks things where ones is a festival and the other would be a show lol
    • Hello,   I have no idea what the answer is to your question, but wish you well in your quest for information.
    • Yes, I was asking about comedy, and also it seems odd that after bringing it back last year, the Seaside Stage seems to have gone again. Probably why Massaoke (basically a big karaoke sing-along) is now on the Castle Stage. But on all three days?! Does all seem a little desperate this year, though hopefully I will be proved wrong. Still think the Mary Wallopers fiasco has probably put a lot of artists off performing at Victorious, hence the reduction in stages and acts appearing... One of the best things about Victorious in the early days was its value for money compared to some of the other bigger festivals, but this certainly not the case anymore...
