Secret Gigs at Glasto?

So..... over the years there have been many secret gigs......last years skrillex looked amazing!

Who do we think will be the possible contenders, at what locations and times.......obvious educated guesses there wont be any cold hard facts out there !

Where is the best place to hear about these? twitter maybe a hour or so before?

If it's a big act I've got a feeling Coldplay might do a secret set somewhere. As much as i love radiohead I hope they don't do another, just bloody headline Thom.

Anyone who has ideas of people like Bowie, Daft punk etc I just can't see it now as think the crowds and bottlenecks it creates makes the events staff uneasy.

I quite enjoyed it, even though I'm not too keen on Beady Eye. Just felt like an added bonus on top of what we already had, and I enjoyed the Oasis tunes :)

Random name off the top of my head, but I'd quite like to see someone like Franz Ferdinand do it :)

Beady Eye was better on paper than it was in reality. they're definitely a big enough band for it to be a somewhat big deal opening the festival, but they're not a particularly good one so it was still kind of shit

it's never gonna be anybody spectacular. somebody like Franz Ferdinand or somebody in that ilk is about as good as it'll get i feel (if they do repeat a 'big' band opening Other, which they may well not)

edit: seems i'm not the only one who thinks Franz have a chance of doing it

Hoping for Franz Ferdinand as a special guest this year. New(ish) album out, usually pretty decent live and have played glasto a few times before.

Fingers crossed for some of the new bands on the smaller stages. Going by the current line-up i'm going to be a bit short of indie/guitar bands during the daytime.

Not really into many of the bands playing the Other and John Peel stages this year either, must be getting old lol !

I want stuff that gets the crowd jumping and going mental, not all calm this swaying stuff :)

Way too much electro, high pitched stuff coming out over the last few years. All sounds the same to me (hides for cover!)

Temples and Crystal Fighters will be decent though on the John Peel, but still got massive gaps. I'm sure they will pull it out the bag though.

Will be the first time in ages i'll be at the pyramid stage for the head liners, way more my scene this year.

Radiohead and Pulp on the Park in 2011 - doesn't get much better than that. Both leaked early in the day, and both were packed out. Imagine h&s have put a stop to that calibre of act appearing now.

Also seem to remember walking past BBC introducing stage that year, just as The Coral were being introduced as special guests.

Libertines would be ideal this year

Mixed bag with secret acts:

Pulp/Radiohead were phenomenal in 2011 (particularly Pulp), but as many have said I doubt you'll see anyone of that calibre again. Certainly not on a stage as small as the Park.

Horrified to hear Liam Gallagher's whining on the Other all the way from the dairy ground last year. Caught the end of their set in preparation for the Hives who were (roughly) 1,000,000x better.
