Listened to it twice through to get me through the start of a revision all-nighter. From those two listens I prefer it to Blunderbuss, but I haven't had enough time with it to make a properly informed decision yet. Agree with the above; Three Women, Would You Fight For My Love? and The Black Bat Licorice are the best songs on there for me at the moment.

Strangely exactly the same favourite three here too. But yeah, very good album.

likewise!

i don't know why i'm doing this to myself as it's just making the decision on the night harder, but i really love the new album. been playing it all day

I like Jack White and I’ll probably see him at Glasto, but I never feel any emotional response to his music (few White Stripes songs aside). This album sounds great, just like the last one, but I’ll doubt I’ll ever listen to it more than a few times. Reckon he’ll be great live though.

Bloody hell, in 3 nights his shifted the setlist about and you'd still not come away dissapointed with any of them would you really?!

This is going be ace, I think Mr White may have taken over from Arcade Fire for my most excited about slot! :P

People always look at me funny when i say i saw him 5 times on the Blunderbuss tour. I then explain how he shifts his set lists around. They still look at me funny though.

Great that You Don't Know What Love Is is getting a lot of airings, for some reason I didn't think it would be one he would play. First time Ball and Biscuit has got an airing this tour too isn't it?

Only big hitter missing so far seems to be Black Math.

I'm at peace with my decision.

Will still be checking times furiously hoping that pixies clash more with metallica as per dental plan's prediction.

I hope they do clash now you've just attributed Indie Cindy and Deal-less Pixies to it. :P

And I hope Manics do a Holy Bible set.

fuck i've never been so back and forth with a decision / clash before. this is so shit. yesterday i was listening to Pixies all day thinking 'yeahhhh this is gonna be amazing' and then bam, White's new album drops, it's amazing, and it's back to square one again

obviously a lot of it is riding on the exact set times etc, but this is gonna be a 'decide at the moment' type of thing it seems, and it's gonna be a killer either way. definitely gonna depend on how much of the Pixies set clashes with Metallica

Excited by the prospect of Sugar Never Tasted So Good! Streaming the Steve Lamacq show now, really enjoying the song on now, can only be a matter of time until my internet cuts out again though, fucking BT.

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
