There's an awesome stall on onecof the main market routes from the pyramid.. i think its called honchos or something like that..they sell all types of walking boots mostly seconds and returns... top names at 30% the normal retail price..still have a pair

Excellent. WIll definately check them out. Thanks very much for that.

Im flying from Ireland. Have to travel light and unfortunately I dont have walking boots. Yes maybe I should have invested in them but at this stage it is too late for me to get any. There is one shoe shop in the town where I live and they dont have any. Working until 7 this evening and flying out at 6am. I wore thick socks in 2011 but I just found it tortourous walking around as the mud caked on the wellies and made them even heavier to walk around. BTW I hate people who say MAN THE FUCK UP. We all have our own expectations for the festival. Anyway I will just have to invest in some wellies when I get there and psyche myself up. At least tomorrow and Thursday look good so I can get in as much of the area as I can.

I think the thing is that Glastonbury is very notorious for suffering from muddy/wet conditions so it would be foolish to not be prepared for that kind of scenario.

Dont get me wrong. The reason I didnt get any was because the weather here has been so nice for the last few weeks. I suppose I got complacent. I dont have a pair of walking shoes. Never needed them before as I always wore runners at any of the festivals I have gone too (well bar Glasto 2011 where I bought wellies on site). My bad but I was hoping against hope that the weather would be good. I much prefer wearing comfortable trainers when walking around. My wellies wont fit into a carry on bag. Its not a problem anyway. I can get them on site. I just hate walking around in the mud. Maybe I have an OCD about it :) :) Please god the rain wont be too bad. Looking at the acts I want to see I have a LOT of walking to do on Friday :) :)

Don't worry it's got potential to be a baptism of fire for many! You're going in with a positive mental attitude at least, can be needed to help others when they flag

Walking is overrated, skidding is the new way forwards - say no to friction!

Here's the 'forecast' you want to be monitoring. It's an aggregate/best guess based on a whole bunch of other forecasts.

I'm not even going this year (first time off in years... new baby!) and I'm still checking forecasts every 10 minutes. Jeez.

Thanks, that's really interesting. We may get hit or may not, but we're not doomed yet!!

That's what I've been saying the whole time, every forecast is based on a % chance and if you look at the % chance you'll see it's still very hit or miss :) The forecast pretty much always goes for the worst case scenario

DUCK CAST IS STILL forecasting 0.5mm of rain folks, so bring ur bikinis and speedos.

Never seen that one before - and I would take that if it really has to be wet.

I don't like seeing my fellow Glastonburiers unhappy! Take the positives:

Looks like FOUR dry days, maybe showers on Saturday if we're unlucky

The exceptionally dry ground will take a lot of hammering before it decides to give up.

The predicted weather front is not widespread. It's patchy. Some parts will be hit, some won't. Will be a coin toss if we will!

No matter what happens, you're still at the most wonderful place on earth, with lots of lovely people.

Smile. :)

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
