Will be interesting to see if Netweather get the apparent 9.5mm of rain forecast for BA4 correct today.

At the moment, 3.6mm for Friday and 5.9mm Saturday. Notice how the 'worst of the rain' keeps shifting a day further (e.g. was Thursday, then Friday, now Saturday). As I've said many times I'd much rather be hoping the weather doesn't drastically change than hoping it does.

That's the same for a few sites now, less rain on Friday but a bit more on Saturday.

I'd be surprised. I'm in Bath as we speak and it's blue skies and sunshine, probably about 19C. Few fluffy white clouds, but no sign of rain as of yet.

BBC says some light rain showers this afternoon, but like you I'd be surprised if the weather there is anything like the weather is here.

Am I being blind to pessimism if I believe that amount of rain over those days as "not much"?

Some people would say that's the amount of rain which fell over Thursday evening last year so spread over 3 days then I'd say it wasn't that much to be fair.

My only trouble with that is that showers every so often, however light, from Thursday to Saturday would be a tad annoying, I'd rather get it all out of the way in one go a la Thursday 2013.

I did 2011 with a 6 month old baby in a bike 'trailer'. I have no kids with me this year so it can do whatever the hell it likes and nothing will compare to lugging that trailer in the drying mud for two hours from the Pyramid Stage to CV West at the end of the night, NOTHING! :)

Sorry to hi-jack,, flying in to Bristol tomorrow, then staying in Bath for the night.

Can you recommend any good pubs?

The ground is pretty dry so it depends on how heavy the showers are. Last year there was only a bit of rain forecast for the Thursday and it ended up raining for about 8 hours solid! And it was heavy rain as well. As the ground was so dry though it had dried out by the Saturday but then it was quite hot over the weekend and at the moment it is looking a lot cooler by the end of the week.

at this point we might as accept that there's going to be mud one way or another.

edit: I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to post a video and I have an AS Level in computing (time well spent ).

Seems bloody bonkers for today - BS3 for example is baking already.

the bell on Walcot street, probably the best pub in Bath. Also a very small pub called the little green tree, cant remember the name of the street its on but its very good, especially if you're an ale drinker.

The Friday was dry but it was also cool - yet the site dried out all the same by the Saturday morning...

Bath's not nearly so good as Bristol for an evening out, but there are some lovely little ale pubs around - I'd second The Little Green Tree - it's a gorgeous little ale house, but has only about eight seats! The Raven, The Griffin and the Salamander are all nice, too, and great if you like a good real ale. The Brewhouse is fairly new, and has a micro brewery in the pub itself, but is a bit pricey.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need street addresses for any of those.

Pubs in Bath worth going to - The Salamander and The Raven for a decent pint of cider and pub grub. Hall and Woodhouse has a roof terrace so if the sun is still shining head there.

Just on the corner of Queen Square all within staggering distance of each other. Enjoy.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
