I heard her called 'the barmiest bird in pop' once. Apparently the comment came from a musician that had worked with her. I'd say she is as fairly radio rental as the rest of us, but what she creates has more purity than just mental. It's much too clever and orchestrated.Would love to see her live. It reminds me of how I allowed myself to be led away from seeing Bjork at Glastonbury. One of those moments so stupid that nobody has invented a scale to represent the buffoonery involved.

Absolutely true. She's about the least bonkers person going, she's just creative and doesn't bottle up her weird thoughts.

You're right about Bjork, possibly the best set I ever saw. Hyperballad was actually awesome, the kind of sound that could do only be made by the Other Stage. My jaw literally dropped. That stage gets a lot of stick, but has seen some bloody brilliant performances. Yes, I am using 'Awesome' and 'literally' correctly. I was in awe, my face went limp from the bass.

Don't feel too bad, I was stood in a pool of shit in the dance tent while Radiohead headlined in 1997.

Yes, I thought of that as I wrote the post. In my defence I personally am not that guilty, as I can be led away from male created music just as easily. It's to my own detriment, of course. I do know a little bit though. infinitesimally small compared to people on here but I do know that walking away from Bjork was a stupid decision. I had the fear at the time - too much dope tipping things in the wrong direction. Ejoy kate Bush all those who are lucky enough to go.

I regret not seeing bjork too! I can't even remember what my thinking was at the time- were spiritualized playing an acoustic set in the park or something?

Apart from 'bird' I'm not sure how terribly sexist that was: her genius is acknowledged isn't it?

I think that women are more likely to be dismissed as barmy or mad, whereas men are more likely to simply be hailed as visionaries.

Even though in musical circles Kate's talent is appreciated, there were plenty of comments about how she looked frumpy and fat compared to the 70s when she won an award for 50 words. I couldn't believe it! Here is a real talent who is still going to new musical places and all they can mention is her weight?? She does get respect, but it's still not a level playing field, even for her.

Some people who have duetted or guested with Kate Bush;

Elton John

Steven Fry

Peter Gabriel

David Gilmour

Rolf Harris

Nigel Kennedy

Prince

Eric Clapton

Jeff Beck

Lenny Henry.

Quite a mix.

And Rowan Atkinson.

I'm pretty sure people get confused that it was Lenny Henry, as they were both on the same (Comic Relief I think) show. At work so can't post the clip, but definately couldn't find anything that matched "Kate Bush Lenny Henry" on YouTube.

Edit: OK just googled it. Lenny Henry has worked with her.

Yes I believe it's a song that also features Prince. The three of them together at Glastonbury? Followed by a stay at a Premier Inn?

OK, your right. I'd lick the rancid cheese off his bell end for that kind of cash.

From duet to bell end, now that's a jump and a half.

Yes, there must be something in that. I must like him so much that I actually want to touch him. I would like to touch him really - in a way that renders him incapable of further function. There, that's a nice bedtime thought.

Dark, dark thoughts.....

    • Set times are out on the app!    Couple of clashes on the Lorde & Deftones day for me but could be a lot worse!
    • I'd love Sam Fender but yeah I reckon he's too big, rumoured for Glastonbury as well I think.   I was thinking Wolf Alice, Blossoms, Phoebe Bridgers, Brandon Flowers, Lily Allen could all be Obelisk headliner shouts but honestly I'm struggling for names a bit. Would love CMAT but I think she said she's taking some time off. Maybe Jungle could be a shout but they've moved away from a dance headliner seemingly.
    • It was always going to be the cost. stuff like this:
    • Man/Woman/Chainsaw anyone? Still 4-5 secret sets to be filled.   New album out today and Rough Trade friendly.
    • can't edit, but just to add to the above:   i get that the last bit is meant to reinforce the message that they are all horrible people and closing ranks to cover up what has happened and carry on with their lives while poor Celeste is left alone with her trauma...   i get it thematically, i just really hated the way it was on screen and i say that my ending would have made for a better movie.   🙂
