Just noticed that Clapton is doing two shows the weekend before, any chances? don't think he has played before and I do recall Micheal saying he would like him to play a few years ago..................Would keep the old rockers happy

I can't stand that dull bastard, even before considering the unsavoury stuff. Some people would be chuffed to bits though, so yeah bung him on the pyramid in the afternoon - we can explode a large bucket of dye and indelibly mark the crowd members who like dull dinosaur guitar bollocks for future reference

But you are right, no need to mention this

"I used to be into dope, now I’m into racism. It’s much heavier, man. Fucking wogs, man. Fucking Saudis taking over London. Bastard wogs. Britain is becoming overcrowded and Enoch will stop it and send them all back. The black wogs and coons and Arabs and fucking Jamaicans and fucking [indecipherable] don’t belong here, we don’t want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don’t want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man. We are a white country. I don’t want fucking wogs living next to me with their standards. This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for fuck's sake? We need to vote for Enoch Powell, he’s a great man, speaking truth. Vote for Enoch, he’s our man, he’s on our side, he’ll look after us. I want all of you here to vote for Enoch, support him, he’s on our side. Enoch for Prime Minister! Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!"

Or this

"In a 2004 interview with Uncut, Clapton referred to Powell as "outrageously brave", and stated that his "feeling about this has not changed",

Or this

"In a December 2007 interview with Melvyn Bragg on The South Bank Show, Clapton reiterated his support for Enoch Powell and again denied that Powell's views were "racist"

Just no need is there.

Eric Clapton threads and comments about racism go together like peas and carrots....which in turn go together like Bruce Springsteen in 2009 and Neil talking about how boring it was.

That's exactly right. I saw every single minute of it.

He played born to run towards the end didnt he, about 2h15mins in. It just blended into all the other songs. They all sound the same

Bruce: "ONE TWO THREE FOUR!"

<bland MOR music>

4 mins later

Bruce: "ONE TWO THREE FOUR!"

<bland MOR music>

repeat for 3 hours.
