jeffie
The Sugarhill Gang are playing at The Jazz Cafe in London in July. These could potentially play. Just one 30 minute long single song set?

CaledonianGonzo
First saw it on Twitter, but this is on Google news: http://go-jamaica.com/news/read_article.php?id=49654 A questionable source, I suppose, but lord knows why someone would make it up. It reads like it true, but it wouldn't be the first time that someone has erroneously reported the death of someone famous.

Dog Burger
I wish they'd try to book some of the acts from Strange Famous Records, particularly Sage Francis, but also B Dolan or Prolyphic. Buck 65, too, would be great. Bestival were brave enough to put Sage and B Dolan's Church of Love and Ruin on, headlining the Swamp Shack, two years ago and it was absolutely immense. Never understood why Glastonbury doesn't try to book credible, alternative hip-hop acts such as these, after having mainstream shit such as Jay-Z on. Having said that, they booked Brother Ali a couple of years back, that was a step in the right direction.

Haven't seen them live yet, but been watching youtube clips of their shows and King Khan looks like a bloody brilliant frontman to watch. Am jealous, but here's hoping for 2014! I hadn't heard of them before and was told not to miss them when they played here (Jersey) at Jersey Live - about 50/100 people there and they were superb - would highly recommend them. Fuck, I really hope they play now, would be perfect for West Holts

CaledonianGonzo
Seun Kuti is releasing a new album in the spring and will be touring throughout the summer - presumably with Egypt 80. A stop off at West Holts wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
